Ahead of Charmed's Season 3 premiere on Jan. 24, the series dropped a new trailer.
Charmed's "Saga Sell" clip opens with Macy Vaughn (Madeleine Mantock) recording a summary of what's led The Charmed Ones and Harry (Rupert Evans) to this point, recording their story in case, as she puts it, "this all does go to hell," as shared by The CW.
Macy proceeds to reflect on the biggest moments of Season 2, noting, "So, a year ago, we were just living our lives as The Charmed Ones. When out of nowhere, an assassin came for us." Macy adds that she and her sisters were able to escape through a portal, but were put into a "withcness protection" program across the country in Seattle.
During their time in the program, Macy explains that the trio met a number of powerful allies and learned that their assassin was Harry's darklighter. The Charmed Ones also uncovered The Faction, a secret organization ran by human billionaires, seeking to steal magic for their technology. The recap ends with Macy explaining, "But now we know who we are. And we know who they are. And the only question left is, 'Who's going to come out of this alive?'"
The CW trailer premiered after Mantock revealed that Season 3 will also delve more into social justice issues. "For Season 3… I’m seeing that extension of what positive representation can be, in terms of like, how big is the pool of the underrepresented we're choosing to show here," Mantock stated.
Mantock added, "Our writers and producers and showrunners -- people in charge in making those decisions -- are incredibly open to what we would like to see. They’re really doing what they can to make those things happen."
The official synopsis for Charmed's Season 3 opener reads,
The Charmed Ones’ (Melonie Diaz, Madeleine Mantock and Sarah Jeffery) lives are in jeopardy as The Faction closes in. Macy and Harry (Rupert Evans) struggle to define their relationship. Stuart Gillard directed the episode written by Natalia Fernandez (episode #301).
Charmed stars Sarah Jeffery, Madeleine Mantock, Melonie Diaz, Rupert Evans, Valerie Cruz, Ser’Darius Blain and Ellen Tamaki. It airs Fridays at 8 p.m. on The CW, with Season 3 premiering on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
