Disney+'s Cheaper by the Dozen Reimagining Adds Zach Braff | CBR

Zach Braff has joined the cast of the Disney+ Cheaper by the Dozen remake.

According to Deadline, the family comedy will follow a multiracial, blended family of 12 as they balance chaotic home life and the family business. Braff is set to play the father. He joins co-star Gabrielle Union, who also serves as an executive producer with Shawn Levy. Gail Lerner will direct.

Based on the autobiographical book of the same name by Frank Bunker Gilbreth Jr. and Ernestine Gilbreth Carey, this will be the third take on the story in film following the 1950 movie starring Clifton Webb and Myrna Loy and 2003 adaptation with Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt. A sequel, Cheaper by the Dozen 2, released in 2005.

Cheaper by the Dozen is one of the many classics Disney is reimagining for its streaming service. Other projects in the works include Turner & HoochDoogie Kameāloha, M.D. (a reboot of Doogie Howser, M.D.)The SandlotNational Treasure and The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers.

Directed by Gail Lerner, Cheaper by the Dozen stars Zach Braff and Gabrielle Union. The film will stream on Disney+ in 2022.
