Legacies Synopsis Declares, 'Welcome to Team Monster' | CBR

Legacies' fourth episode of its newest season, "Hold On Tight," will see The Necromancer causing some big problems for the Super Squad.

The CW's supernatural hit show premiered Season 3 on Jan. 21, picking up from where Season 2 ended -- with leading hero Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) caught in a magical coma and her boyfriend Landon (Aria Shahghasemi) stuck between life and death. Although The Necromancer seemingly becomes an ally in the latest season, that won't last long.

The official synopsis for Season 3, Episode 4, reads,

WELCOME TO TEAM MONSTER — The Super Squad bands together after the Necromancer’s (guest star Ben Geurens) next move unleashes more than anyone bargained for. Meanwhile, a run-in with Ethan (Leo Howard) reminds Josie (Kaylee Bryant) why she doesn’t trust herself with magic. Danielle Rose Russell, Matthew Davis, Aria Shahghasemi, Jenny Boyd, Quincy Fouse, Chris Lee and Ben Levin also star. Jeffrey Hunt directed the episode written by Brett Matthews (#304). Original airdate 2/11/2021.

Per the synopsis from The CW, the episode will also find Josie Saltzman (Kaylee Bryant) coming to terms with the dark magic that consumed her at the end of last season. As executive producer Brent Matthews recently teased, a big part of the storyline in Legacies' current season will revolve around Josie's black magic recovery.

The Season 3 premiere of Legacies ended with resurrected werewolf Rafael (Peyton Alex Smith) learning that he is a descendant of King Arthur, and as such, the right heir to the sword Excalibur. However, a new clip from the upcoming second episode suggested that Rafael will be facing some scary side effects as a result of his resurrection. He will need help from his magical friends to survive. The absence of Smith's name in the Episode 4 synopsis also suggests it's unclear if Rafael will be alive -- and still part of the Super Squad -- when Episode 4 debuts on Feb. 11.

Legacies stars Danielle Rose Russell as Hope Mikaelson, Jenny Boyd as Lizzie Saltzman, Kaylee Bryant as Josie Saltzman, Quincy Fouse as Milton "MG" Greasley, Aria Shahghasemi as Landon Kirby, Peyton Alex Smith as Rafael, Chris Lee as Kaleb, Leo Howard as Ethan Mac, Ben Levin as Jed, with Matthew Davis as Alaric Saltzman. New episodes air Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
