Naruto: 10 Worst Things Orochimaru Did That Everyone Forgot About

When it comes to Orochimaru, a laundry list could be made of all the atrocities he's committed. Of all the villains in Naruto, he's one of the most reprehensible, never having remorse for what he did and ruining numerous lives. It's why it's so strange that he's somehow been rehabilitated in Boruto.

More confusing than that is the fact he's allowed to be around kids despite many of those atrocities were done to them. Everyone remembers him killing Hiruzen but forget all the experiments he did on others.

10 Kidnapping Children

After Minato gained the title of Hokage from Hiruzen, Orochimaru no longer felt the need to hide his experiments, becoming bolder. This led to him kidnapping sixty children to experiment with Hashirama's DNA, gaining aid from Danzo in the process.

He considered the experiments a failure, unaware that one of them had survived. The fact he could so easily discard children shows how awful a person he was, always seeing everyone as nothing more than test subjects for his ambitions.

9 Creating Shin Uchiha

Shin never ended up as big a villain as many felt he would when he was first introduced, but that doesn't change that Orochimaru played a direct hand in his creation. He implanted Hashirama cells and Sharingan into his arm before harvesting it for Danzo once the experiment was a success.

His arm wasn't the only place the Sharingan were implanted either as they were spread all over his body and led to his eventual obsession with the Uchiha, one Orochimaru shared.

8 Testing The Cursed Seal On Anko

It's always unfortunate how underused Anko was as a character, particularly due to her connection with Orochimaru. Even more than Yamato and his other test subjects, Anko should hate Orochimaru for what he did.

He abused his position as her mentor, using her as he had so many others until her use was up. She remains one of the only characters that managed to control the urges of her Cursed Seal and stand up to Orochimaru in the process.

7 Creating Living Corpse Reincarnation

Orochimaru was always a man obsessed with immortality, and it led him to eventually creating the Living Corpse Reincarnation that allowed him to effectively become just that. It allowed him to preserve his mind, letting it hop from host to host, taking over their mind, and thus the body.

The process was far from painless and rarely did the bodies last Orochimaru more than a few years as they lacked the chakra quantity he needed. There's no telling just how often he'd used it on his poor prisoners.

6 Sending Team Dosu As Sacrifices To Test Sasuke

A running theme with Orochimaru is how many of his despicable acts involve children, something that should make him irredeemable, despite the route Boruto has taken with the character. One of the first things viewers are privy to is his willful sacrifice of three sound genin who are only sent to the Chunin Exams to test Sasuke's strength.

They, of course, think they are there to try to kill the boy, blissfully unaware of how unimportant they are. By the end, all three kids are dead, two of which by Orochimaru's own hands.

5 Casual Disregard Of Kimimaro

It doesn't hit as hard as the rest as Kimimaro was perfectly okay with allowing himself to be a vessel to Orochimaru, seeing it as his only purpose in life. He'd do anything to serve his master, his deteriorating health causing him to berate himself.

Sadly, he was so willing to throw his life away for a man who didn't care one iota for him. Orochimaru was only interested in the unique abilities Kimimaro had and nothing more than that, showing how selfish he was.

4 Trying To Create Underwater Ninja

The Land of the Sea was used as the staging ground for one of Orochimaru's hideouts. He hoped to create a ninja capable of fighting underwater here, something that Amachi, one of Orochimaru's underlings, managed to pull off with Kaima form.

The form changed the user's skin, forcing them to look more like fish than people. Despite this, Orochimaru grew bored with the project and abandoned it. The ease Orochimaru has with leaving behind projects, despite the damage it does to others, is astounding.

3 Orchestrating The Rampage Of The Eight-Tails

It only happened in the anime, but Orochimaru was behind the last rampage of the eight-tails in Kumogakure. He posed as a doctor to Blue-B (Killer Bee's predecessor) and tricked him into taking genjutsu inducing pills, letting him extract the tailed beast.

While not canon, it's an event that is right up Orochimaru's alley, always willing to do anything he could to push himself further. In this case, it was harvesting Blue-B's DNA from a severed horn of the eight-tails.

2 Tricking The Iburi Clan

The Iburi clan were part of a filler arc where Orochimaru used them as he always did. He took advantage of the fear they had of their ability to turn into smoke, using his cursed seal to help stabilize it.

Under the guise of needing more research to perfect the process, they willingly gave him test subjects. By the time they realized Orochimaru's true goals, it was already too late. They were all killed off save for Yukimi as Orochimaru desperately searched for a blood source that could grant him the power.

1 Using Yukimaru To Control Three-Tails

For unknown reasons, Yukimaru was able to control part of the three-tails, something that Orochimaru naturally took advantage of. Through the use of pills created by Kabuto, the time he could assert this control was elongated.

He purposely paired Yukimaru with Guren, another agent of Orochimaru's, knowing they would create a bond together, and once it was shattered, Yukimaru would lose control of his powers and hopefully deal with both Akatsuki and Konoha for him. It failed, but there's no doubting what a manipulator Orochimaru was.
