As celebrities' careers start to take off, there are some rites of passage in entertainment, such as guest starring on the long-running children's program Sesame Street. Ryan Reynolds stated on social media that he found playing an "A-hole" a challenge on the show.
Reynolds aired his small grievance about his Sesame Street appearance on Twitter, responding to a fan who mentioned watching his appearance with her child. Reynolds replied, "I remember how challenging it was to sing because the A-hole was so tight," he wrote. "But I pushed through because kids all over the country were counting on me."
In the segment featuring Reynolds, the actor participated in a spoof of the 1980s television series The A-Team with resident monsters Elmo, Abby Cadabby and Telly Monster. He appeared as the letter "A" parodying the team's leader John "Hannibal" Smith.
The actor's behind-the-scenes story gave a glimpse into the beloved children's program. Recently, HBO announced Sesame Street will be the subject of a new documentary called Street Gang: How We Got to Sesame Street, about the early days of the iconic children's series. In recent months, the series has made headlines for addressing current issues such as COVID-19 and racism.
