WandaVision Actors Celebrate Their New Character Emojis | CBR

New hashtag emojis have surfaced for discussing WandaVision on Twitter, and the actors behind the characters who are making their first appearance are apparently thrilled with them.

The new emojis include Monica Rambeau, Darcy Lewis and Jimmy Woo, three characters who were in the spotlight in last week's episode, "We Interrupt This Program." All three are affiliated with S.W.O.R.D. and working together on the mystery of Westview and how it's been turned into a sitcom starring Wanda and Vision.

Darcy is an astrophysicist recruited for the case, whose interest in Wanda's sitcom and puzzlement over the questions it raises mirrors those of the audience. A Marvel Cinematic Universe veteran, she was last seen in 2013's Thor: the Dark World, with Kat Dennings finally reprising the role to appear on WandaVision.

Dennings tweeted about seeing herself depicted in an emoji with obvious excitement: "I HAVE A #DarcyLewis EMOJI?!" she wrote, using the hashtag to bring up the face of Darcy with her trademark glasses. "Goodbye I have passed away," she added.

Teyonah Parris, who plays Monica Rambeau, reacted to her own character's emoji on an Instagram story. Her post contained the text, "A HASHTAG EMOJI FOR MONICAAAA!!!" and emphasized the emotion around it with icons of crying faces, high-fives and hearts.

Parris, whose first brief appearance on WandaVision came in its second episode, is new to the MCU. However, her character was introduced as a child in 2019's Captain Marvel, the daughter of Carol Danvers' best friend Maria. Her role in the show has now established her importance as an agent of S.W.O.R.D., with hints at her potential to take on the superhero persona of her Marvel comics counterpart.

An emoji for Jimmy Woo, another returning character from another part of the MCU, was also added. Fans who wish to celebrate on Twitter alongside the cast can use the hashtag emojis #DarcyLewis, #MonicaRambeau and #JimmyWoo, as well as #WandaMaximoff and #TheVision, or #WandaVision for the show as a whole.

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. New episodes air Fridays on Disney+.
