Andor -- one of Disney+'s upcoming live-action Star Wars television shows -- has reportedly added two names to its list of directors.
According to DiscussingFilm, Benjamin Caron and Susanna White will direct episodes of Andor for Disney+. Caron is perhaps best known for his work on The Crown, having directed 11 episodes of the Netflix drama across four seasons. Meanwhile, White has helmed two episodes of HBO's The Deuce, with her other television directing credits including episodes of Generation Kill, Boardwalk Empire and Masters of Sex. She also directed the 2010 film Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (released in North America as Nanny McPhee Returns).
Caron and White join Toby Haynes (Utopia, Black Mirror), who was previously brought on to direct episodes of Andor. Tony Gilroy, co-writer of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, will write the series and serve as showrunner. Filming on Andor is currently underway, and the series is scheduled to hit Disney+ sometime in 2022.
Andor is a spy thriller that serves as a prequel to Rogue One, taking place five years before the events of the 2016 Star Wars anthology film. Diego Luna will star in the series, reprising his role as Rebel Alliance spy Cassian Andor. He will be joined by fellow Rogue One alum Genevieve O'Reilly as Mon Mothma. Alan Tudyk was announced to be reprising his role as Cassian's droid companion, K-2S0, though Tudyk recently cast doubt on this prospect. New additions to the cast include Adria Arjona, Stellan Skarsgård, Denise Gough and Kyle Soller.
