Not only that, but she also got the hang of bloodbending very quickly, a technique that took Hama years to perfect. She was also the only known waterbender to have mastered all the sub-bending forms. Best of all, fans who have read the comics will know that some of Katara’s best waterbending moments take place in the books.

10 Katara Vs Bullies: she made the bullies realize she was a master waterbender & they surrendered on the spot in fear

In "North and South," Katara and Sokka returned to their home at the South Pole. While on the way to their village, they came across a construction site. Some men on the construction site were shooing a bunch of children away from the place.

To scare them away, the men tried to use waterbending on them but Katara intervened. They tried to attack her, but she easily deflected their attack and retaliated by forming a giant spiky ball made of snow. This made them realize she was a master waterbender, and they surrendered on the spot in fear.

9 Katara Saved Sokka, Satoru, & Loban

In "The Rift," a giant spirit known as General Old Iron attacked the land on which the Earthen Fire Refinery was located. Loban was holding on to the General’s mask when the spirit picked it up and him along with it.

To save him, Satoru and Sokka grabbed onto him. However, they could not jump in time and as a result, hung in mid-air on the spirit’s mask. Katara sprang into action and made a water slide for them, allowing them to slide to safety.

8 Katara Escaped From A Rebel Base

In "North and South," Sokka and Katara discovered the secret hideout of a rebel base that intended to overthrow their father -- who was the chief -- and seize power. The leader of the rebels, Gilak, tried to recruit them both to his cause but they refused.

He knew they would snitch on him, so he could not let them escape and ordered his people to stop them. However, no one was a match for Katara’s waterbending and Sokka’s swordsmanship. Together, they managed to escape the hideout.

7 Katara Saved Aang from Fire Nation Soldiers

In "The Promise," Aang traveled to Yu Dao to speak to Zuko. He was stopped on the way by Zuko’s soldiers who told him that he was not allowed to see the Fire Lord. Aang tried to explain to them that he just wanted to talk to him, but they did not listen to him and started attacking.

Aang did not retaliate and continued to explain himself while they attacked him. Katara, having had enough of their attempts to kill her boyfriend, used waterbending to defeat every single soldier.

6 Katara Defeated The Rough Rhinos

In "The Rift," the Avatar Gang visited the Earthen Fire Refinery. The refinery was guarded by the Rough Rhinos. Lao, the owner of the refinery and Toph’s father, asked the Rhinos to escort everyone out of the factory and to use force if needed. When the gang refused to leave, they attacked.

Sokka diverted their attention and led them and Katara to a river. Katara used the river’s water to freeze every single Rough Rhino in their spot, thus winning the fight and giving Toph and Aang a chance to go and speak to Lao.

5 Katara Resisted Fire Nation Soldiers

In "Katara and the Pirate’s Silver," Katara made a deal with a group of pirates. She was to help them out with her waterbending in exchange for a place on their ship so that she could get back to the Avatar gang.

Before they could set sail, Fire Nation soldiers recognized the ship was a rogue one and ran towards it to attack. Katara flooded the entire dock with her waterbending, causing some of the soldiers to slip and fall in the sea while she fought the rest of them. This bought the pirates enough time to set sail.

4 Katara Stopped Old Iron’s Attack

General Old Iron had a grudge against humans and intended to destroy everything in his wake. He saw a lot of civilians gathered on the land and moved to strike the ground with his giant fists covered with iron armor. The impact of his attack would have been deadly if not for Katara.

She stepped in at the right moment and formed an ice shield, blocking his attack. Her shield was so powerful that even his heavily armored hand could not break it.

3 Katara Hijacked A Fire Nation Ship

Once Katara set sail with the pirates in their wooden boat, they were followed by the Fire Nation ship who started attacking them with fired-up cannonballs. Knowing their ship wouldn’t survive the fire, Katara decided to hijack the Fire Nation’s metal ship, where she knew they would be safe.

She glided over to the ship on a path made of ice and then used a giant wave of water to flush out all the soldiers. Only Katara could have single-handedly hijacked an entire ship full of Fire Nation soldiers without getting a scratch on herself.

2 Katara Moved An Entire Ship By Herself

Once she had ridden the ship of all the Fire Nation soldiers, Katara had to find a way to move the ship. She did not know how to ride one, and she was running out of time to save her pirate friends, so she decided to use her bending.

Her bending was so strong that she was able to bend the water in a way that could move and steer the giant metal ship the way she wanted to.

1 Katara Destroyed The Docks

All the commotion with the ships had raised alarm and the dock became overrun with Fire Nation soldiers. They asked the pirates to surrender. It seemed like all hope was lost but Katara came through.

She used her ship to crash into the dock, sending wood and soldiers flying everywhere. The pirates quickly transferred their cargo on to the new ship. They set sail and managed to escape quickly before the soldiers had a chance to recover. Katara single-handedly fought and saved everyone.
