Fall Guys: 5 Characters Who Should Be Added After Cuphead | CBR

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout recently announced that Cuphead and Mugman from the indie game Cuphead will be joining the game as costumes. Fall Guys has had quite a few crossovers so far, featuring other video game characters, YouTubers and even pop culture icons like Godzilla. Indie-game characters have been especially well-represented, with characters from Untitled Goose Game and several characters from fellow Devolver Digital-published games being featured in the game's store.

With all the different franchises and developers that Fall Guys has collaborated with, many players have their own dream selection of crossover costumes. Of course, it's important to keep in mind the kinds of games and franchises that have already been featured in Fall Guys when thinking of realistic crossovers. Here are five characters that would be fun to include and that also have a real shot of appearing.

Given that Fall Guys' skins are designed to look like mascot costumes, it makes a lot of sense to bring in a character that's actually a mascot, both in-universe and beyond. Fall Guys has already collaborated with Bethesda to bring three DOOM-related costumes into the game, so the connections are certainly be there for another Bethesda franchise, Fallout, to enter the game. Vault Boy would look great as a Fall Guys costume, especially since the character is already a mascot in his own games.

Vault Boy seems to be Bethesda's go-to crossover character for the Fallout series. He's already appeared as a Mii costume in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as well as in several other Bethesda games. He works well as a mascot given how easily recognizable he is, so a Vault Boy costume in Fall Guys feels like a perfect fit.

The massive indie-RPG hit Undertale has seen surprisingly few crossovers with other games, with the only notable cases being Sans appearing as a Mii costume in Smash Ultimate and some songs from the game included in the rhythm game Groove Coaster. If Undertale were to receive another crossovers, Sans would be the most recognizable character to pick. He also works fairly well as a character skin or costume. With how much focus there has been on indie game crossovers with Fall Guys, an Undertale character would make a lot of sense.

Hollow Knight is another indie game that features a recognizable character that fans would love to see get more attention outside of their own series. The Knight's design could translate fairly easily to the art style of Fall Guys. It's a simple yet distinct design that fits right in with the general style that surrounds many of Fall Guys' costumes.

From a gameplay standpoint, Hollow Knight actually makes a lot of sense to crossover with Fall Guys since both games rely on movement. Hollow Knight isn't exactly a platformer, but it does certainly have a lot of mechanics that blend combat with movement. Seeing a character from that kind of game participate in the obstacle-platforming gameplay of Fall Guys feels like a really fun connection.

Much like Hollow Knight, there are a lot of comparisons to draw between the gameplay of Super Meat Boy and Fall Guys. Both games involve characters platforming through a series of obstacles to reach the end of the stage. Featuring a series or character that has similar gameplay to Fall Guys is nothing new, as fans have noted these kinds of comparisons with characters like Sonic and The Scout from Team Fortress 2.

Meat Boy's simple design would translate fairly well to a Fall Guys costume, though his cube-shaped body may be difficult to implement. Meat Boy's also a well-known character that helped establish the early indie platformer genre alongside games like VVVVVV and Fez. It'd be a fun costume for the longtime platformer fans that would pay homage to a classic indie platformer.

Among Us and Fall Guys are two very different games with wildly different mechanics, but they just so happened to be multiplayer titles that rose to popularity around the same time. With both of these games quickly building huge followings, fans began to notice some interesting comparisons between both games' character designs.

These comparisons mainly come down to the shape of the characters, with both games featuring colorful bean-shaped characters with confusing anatomy. The similar designs and timing of each game's popularity ended up being more than enough to stir up requests for Among Us to get a crossover costume in Fall Guys, and that's a collaboration we'd love to see be made a reality.
