Invincible Cast & Character Guide | CBR

Set to arrive this March, Amazon Prime will be premiering its adaptation of Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley's long-running superhero epic, Invincible. Set within its own universe of heroes and villains, the Image Comics property follows the adventures of young Mark Grayson, the son of the world's greatest superhero. After Mark's own powers begin to awaken, he will finally get the chance to become step out on his own and become a hero in the form of Invincible.

Entering into the world of heroics, Mark will be confronted by other heroes, villains and other figures that will play pivotal roles on his own journey. With the animated series bringing many of the comic's characters to life with new looks and an amazing cast, here's a guide to the actors the Invincible series has enlisted to tackle its wide range of characters.

Receiving his superpowers from his father, Mark Grayson dons the titular name of Invincible as the world's newest hero. His abilities include super-strength, incredible speed, flight and near-invulnerability. As he continues his journey, however, these newfound powers and his role as a hero will be tested as the threats he faces grow in number and power. Mark will be portrayed by Steven Yeun, best known for his role as Glenn on The Walking Dead.

The world's greatest hero, Nolan Grayson came to Earth from the planet of Viltrum as an ambassador for the ways of his people. Determined to help humanity, he became Omni-Man, eventually falling in love and starting a family. As his world's version of Superman, his deeds are the gold standard for any burgeoning hero. No stranger to comic book roles, J.K. Simmons will voice Omni-Man, having played roles like Commissioner Gordon in Justice League and J. Jonah Jameson in both the MCU and Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy.

After Nolan saved her life as Omni-Man, Debbie began to show the alien life on Earth, and the two ended up falling in love. The human mother of Mark, Debbie supports both her husband and son as the rock that stabilizes their hectic lives as superheroes with her own sense of perspective. In Amazon's adaptation, she will be played by Sandra Oh, famous for her lead roles in Grey's Anatomy and Killing Eve.

Hailing from the Coalition of Planets, Allen the alien comes to visit Earth every few years for a regular battle with Omni-Man. Generally pleasant and friendly, Allen is always ready for a fight to test those around him in preparation for the battles to come. When he meets the new hero Invincible, he will become Mark's connection to the universe around him. Allen will be voiced by comedy icon Seth Rogen, who also serves as an executive producer on the show.

Serving as a liaison between the U.S. government and the superheroes of the world, Cecil Stedman is always looking out for America's best interests. He has worked alongside the heroes for the past two decades, and even considers Omni-Man a friend. However, Cecil's number one priority will always be his job, which may cause issues between him and Invincible. In the series, he will be played by Walton Goggins, best known for his roles in Justified and Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Another young hero, Samantha, aka Atom Eve, has the power to change the atoms and molecular design of objects and can create force fields and other weapons for herself in times of need. She serves as a member of the Teen Team and also attends the same high school as Mark. As Invincible makes a name for himself, Atom Eve helps in his introduction to the world of other heroes. Amazon's Invincible will see the character portrayed by Community's Gillian Jacobs.

Like Atom Eve, Rexsplode is another member of the Teen Team. Solely dedicated to becoming a great hero, Rex has the power to turn anything he touches into an explosive that he can detonate on command. He has fought by Atom Eve's side for years and is her partner, both professionally and domestically. Rexplode will be played by Jason Mantzoukas, as seen on Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Big Mouth.

The leader of the Teen Team, Robot serves as the team's tech-guy and primary strategist in combat. With his origins unknown by even his teammates, Robot has proven himself as one to be trusted as he has integrated himself within the team, peering at them through his robotic lenses. In Invincible, the character will be voiced by Zachary Quinto, who also played the Enterprise's voice of logic, Spock, in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek trilogy.

Like Debbie Grayson, Art Rosenbaum is another integral figure in Mark Grayson's journey to becoming a hero. As the tailor for many of the major heroes of the world, including Omni-Man, Art is a close friend of the Graysons and provides Mark with his iconic costume. As the world around Invincible begins to change, Art remains the same, a friend and a source of advice for the burgeoning hero. In the series, he will be portrayed by Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill.

Serving as this world's own version of the Justice League, the Guardians of the Globe have fought by Omni-Man's side for years. They are the world's greatest heroes in any crisis and the group that all heroes dream of one day joining. The team will be portrayed by members of the cast of The Walking Dead, another of Robert Kirkman's properties, including Lennie James as Darkwing, Sonequa Martin-Green as Green Ghost, Lauren Cohan as War Woman, Michael Cudlitz as Red Rush, Khary Payton as Black Samson and Ross Marquand as both the Immortal and Aquarius.

The animated series has also cast plenty of other smaller characters that will help in Invincible's efforts to save the world. Andrew Rannels, Zazie Beetz and Jonathan Groff will appear as William Clockwell, Amber Bennet, and Rick Sheridan, respectively, who are all fellow classmates of Mark that become involved in both his personal and superhero life. As the final members of the Teen Team, Malese Jow will be playing Kate Cha/Dupli-Kate, with Grey Griffin and Kevin Michael Richardson both portraying Amanda/Monster Girl. Griffin will also play Shrinking Ray, an older hero who has yet to make it into the Guardians of the Globe.

In minor roles, Mae Whitman will be playing the dual roles of Fightmaster and Dropkick, a time-traveling duo with a warning for Mark, and Chris Diamantopoulos will serve as Donald Ferguson, Cecil Stedman's right-hand man in the affairs of heroes. Nicole Byer and Jon Hamn have also been cast as completely new characters, whose identities remain to be seen. Most notably, Oscar winner and future Blade actor Mahershala Ali has been cast as Titan, another vigilante that joins Invincible in the battle against the crime.

On the villainous side, Invincible will feature Jeffrey Donovan as Machine Head, the city's leading mob boss. Clancy Brown will play Damien Darkblood, with Chris Diamantopoulos and Kevin Michael Richardson joining the cast as Doc Seismic and the Mauler Twins, respectively. Michael Dorn, best known as Worf from Star Trek, will play Battle Beast, one of the deadliest warriors in the galaxy that constantly seeks worthy prey. Among those that would challenge Mark's journey, the series also features two alums from the DCEU: Djimon Hounsou, who will play the Martian Emperor, and The Flash's Ezra Miller, who tackles D.A. Sinclair, a genius inventor with a horrifying plan.
