A new casting call for Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures' untitled Spider-Man 3 hints at a potential courtroom scene within the film's narrative.
Spider-Man 3 is seeking actors to portray a stenographer and various attorneys, as reported by @spideyupdated. The roles are open to either male or female actors, with an age range from 20-60. On Feb. 15, it was announced that the upcoming Spidey film would feature actor Succession actor Arian Moayed in a detective role within the upcoming Spidey film.
A potential courtroom scene would hint at a trial for Peter Parker, picking up where the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home left off, with Mysterio leaking doctored footage to the Daily Bugle that framed Peter for his murder and outed Peter as Spider-Man to the world. Official promo material from Sony, as well as set photos, hinted that New York City is divided on Spidey's innocence -- with some citizens standing up for him and others choosing to believe Mysterio.
Although plot details have remained scarce, Spider-Man 3 will tie into the events of WandaVision, according to showrunner Jac Schaffer. Rumors stated that actors from the previous two Spider-Man film series might reprise their roles in the latest Spidey film as well.
Directed by Jon Watts, the currently untitled sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina and Benedict Cumberbatch. The film arrives in theaters Dec. 17.
