WandaVision Cracks Nielsen's Original Streaming Series Top 10

Nielsen numbers indicate that WandaVision was a widely-viewed hit in its first week of release.

According to Variety, Nielsen is reporting that WandaVision was watched for 434 million minutes during the week of January 11-17, putting it as the sixth most-watched streaming program during that time frame. This is a notable achievement, due to WandaVision being only around for three of the seven days tracked as well as the series only having aired two episodes at that time.

WandaVision outpaced a number of high-profile programs in the top ten chart for this week, including The Crown (394 million minutes), Virgin River (340 million minutes) and fellow Disney+ program The Mandalorian (339 million minutes).

This is not the only recent instance of impressive viewership data being released for WandaVision. Parrot Analytics, for example, revealed that there was 60 times more demand for WandaVision than the average TV show during the first week of February. This put the series ahead of shows like Stranger Things and The Boys on that particular chart.

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. New episodes air Fridays on Disney+.
