WandaVision Just Gave [SPOILER] His Marvel Zombies Moment | CBR

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for WandaVision Episode 4, "We Interrupt This Program," now streaming on Disney+.

The latest episode of WandaVision blows the series wide open when it reveals Wanda Maximoff is responsible for creating the alternate reality known as Westview. This small town has been warped by the Scarlet Witch, who's clearly working through her grief issues, being transformed into a suburban sitcom bubble where she hopes to find happiness.

However, as she continues to protect her safe zone, one very shocking moment gave Vision his own Marvel Zombies moment that's even scarier than the source material.

In the gruesome Earth-2149 stories from Marvel Comics, Vision was one of the Avengers Nick Fury enlisted to fight off the infected horde, only to get turned himself. The same fate would befall Wanda, and they ended up working for the zombified Kingpin, with Wanda protecting the android as he blocked radio signals out for the criminal.

In WandaVision, no war-filled event happens, but fans do get to see how scary Vision would look if he was infected by the plague. This moment happens when Monica Rambeau is kicked out of Westview by Wanda after she brings up Pietro's death at the hands of Ultron. After tossing her neighbor, Wanda fixes the walls of the house, just as Vision walks back into the house and greets his wife.

However, when Vision emerges in the light, he's the same grey husk that Thanos left in Wakanda. The way he moves slowly and tilts his head is reminiscent of a zombie, and what makes this moment even terrifying is that he actually looks more undead than his comic counterpart did, not maintaining his coloration. Vision's appearance stuns Wanda, who quickly fixes reality and gets him back to his red-and-green self, being petrified that she just saw her husband's corpse come to life.

It's unclear what happened to Vision's body after Infinity War, but Wanda got dusted right at his side, so this zombie could be the manifestation of what she saw after she returned in Endgame, wishing he was still around. Unfortunately, he isn't alive, and this moment reflects Wanda's fears, which leaves fans wondering how Vision's story will end.

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. New episodes air Fridays on Disney+.
