10 Wishes Anakin Skywalker Would Make On The Dragon Balls | CBR

Anakin Skywalker is probably the most important character in Star Wars. His rise and fall are the holy writ of the Star Wars universe, the foundational text that makes everything else possible. A Jedi of many strengths and weaknesses, Anakin was one of the top Generals of the Clone Wars and always fought to help his friends, doing the right thing and suffering for it more than once.

Anakin's life was marred by tragedy for a long time, tragedies that he would anything to stop. However, if he had the power of the Dragon Balls and their wish-granting ability, the universe would be a very different place.

10 He'd Wish For The End Of The Clone Wars

Anakin found himself in some of the most vicious battles of the Clone Wars, on the frontlines with his clone trooper legion, the 501st, his master Obi-Wan, and his Padawan Ahsoka. He saw first hand the pain war causes and the abject senselessness of the whole thing. He would do anything to end that, so if he could wish it away, he most definitely would.

Anakin would wish for the end of the Clone Wars with the Republic coming out on the top, of course. There are few Jedi who understand the cost of war like Anakin does, and ending the war with a simple wish would be the first thing he did.

9 He'd Wish The Clones Were Given A Good Life

Anakin treated the clone troops under his command better than a lot of the Jedi. To Anakin, they were men first and foremost; he cared about them and what happened to them. It's one of the reasons he led from the front--he wouldn't ask them to do anything he wouldn't. So, if his first wish were to end the war, his next would be to make sure his troops had a good life.

Anakin understood better than most Jedi just how important love, peace, and happiness could be to a person, and so he'd want to make sure the troops whose entire lives were suffering and fighting would be taken care of.

8 He'd Wish For The Peace, Security, & Freedom Of The Republic

In the run-up to his battle with Obi-Wan on Mustafar, Anakin said he just ensured the peace, security, and freedom of his new empire. That was a bit deluded but deep down, it's something that Anakin would want for the people of the Republic. It's what he fought for as a Jedi, and while he said it when he was no longer Anakin, it's still something he believed in.

Anakin would wish for those things for the Republic, ensuring that the Republic he and the Jedi sacrificed so much for would be a happy, prosperous, and healthy place to live for the common citizens.

7 He'd Wish To Know The Identity Of The Sith Lord Controlling The CIS

In Attack Of The Clones, Count Dooku told Obi-Wan a Sith Lord was in charge of the war on both sides. The Jedi Council searched to no avail for this Sith, even though he was right under their noses--Chancellor Palpatine. By the time they found out, it was too late and everything changed for the worst.

Anakin would definitely want to know the identity of the Sith Lord and, depending on how far he was on his road to the Sith, act on it. With the power of the Dragon Balls on his side, he wouldn't need Palpatine's help to save Padme, so he wouldn't spare him from Jedi justice.

6 He'd End Slavery

Anakin might have eventually found his way out of slavery, but that doesn't change the fact that he had to experience all the pain that came with it. This had a profound effect on his psyche, one that would help Palpatine manipulate him later in life and also lead to his disillusion with the Jedi pretty much from the beginning of his time with them--if they were so much about the good of the people of the galaxy, why did the Jedi allow slavery to flourish?

Anakin would definitely wish to end the institution of slavery throughout the galaxy. It's a terrible thing to hold others in bondage, and Anakin knows that firsthand. A simple wish would do more for the downtrodden of the galaxy than just about anything the Jedi had ever done.

5 He'd Wish For His Mother To Be Alive

The death of Anakin's mother was one of the formative moments in the birth of Darth Vader. He took his first steps down the dark path the day he found her in the Tusken Raider camp. So, it's kind of a no-brainer that if he had the power to have his wishes granted, he would want his mother back to life.

Living with the Lars family, Shmi had a good life and found love. Anakin would want her to have that back. He'd want the ability to always go and be with her whenever he wanted, so him wishing her back to life is exactly the kind of thing he would do.

4 He'd Wish For The Lars Family To Be Rich

With his mother back to life, Anakin's next wish would be for the prosperity of her family. Life on Tatooine is quite hard, and he'd do anything to make his mother's life easier. So, he'd definitely wish for the Lars family to be rich enough to either have a very easy life on Tatooine or to come to him on Coruscant and see a whole new life.

Anakin cared deeply for people, and if it helped his mother, he'd want it done. Wishing for vast wealth for her and the family she found on Tatooine would be the least he could do. Besides helping his mother, it would also show his gratitude to the Lars family for making her a part of them.

3 He's Wish For Obi-Wan & Ahsoka To Be Happy

Beyond his relationship with Padme, the most important positive relationships in Anakin's life were those with Obi-Wan and Ahsoka. His master was like a brother to him and Ahsoka was their younger sister. The three formed a great friendship during the war and were a near unstoppable team when working together. He'd want both of them to be happy, and the Dragon Balls would make that easy.

Anakin would wish for Obi-Wan and Ahsoka to be happy. The two of them had saved his life many times and vice versa, and that would be enough for him to want to look out for them and make sure their lives were great.

2 He'd Wish For Qui-Gon To Come Back To Life

Anakin barely knew Qui-Gon Jinn, but the Jedi Master is one of the most important people in his young life. Qui-Gon freed him and put him on the Jedi path. He stood up to the Jedi Council over the young Anakin and was planning on training him. Anakin also knew just what Qui-Gon meant to his master, Obi-Wan.

Anakin would wish for Qui-Gon to come back to life. Not only would this be good for him and Obi-Wan, the Jedi getting Qui-Gon back would be great for the Order, as his unorthodox way of doing things would have a profound effect on them.

1 He'd Wish For Padme To Be Safe & Protected

Anakin and Padme's relationship was the most important thing to him, even if it was pretty unhealthy at times. His visions of her fate are one of the things that set him down the final leg of his road to the dark side--if it wasn't for his desperation to keep her safe, he never would have fallen to Palpatine's manipulation.

With the power of Dragon Balls, Anakin would wish for his wife to be safe and protected always, which is the most important thing to him. With her safe from harm, a lot of suffering would be prevented for the people of the galaxy, and he may even learn a healthier outlet for his love for her.
