Batwoman BTS Video Reveals Javicia Leslie's Skydiving Stunt | CBR

Batwoman star Javicia Leslie revealed how she pulled off Batwoman's dramatic covert landing on the island of Coryana in Season 2, Episode 8, "Survived Much Worse."

Leslie gave fans a tour of the location where Batwoman's production crew filmed the landing sequence and her safety harness on Instagram. After putting on her costume, the video shows Leslie being fitted into a harness and an oxygen mask while "learning how to stimulate the landing" for ground-level shots and "geeking out" about the stunt with her crew members.

Leslie captioned the post, "Check out this BTS of Sunday night’s stunt!!! Batwoman has to skydive in the episode, the only problem is; she’s never even been on a plane. If you haven’t caught this epic episode, no worries, you can stream for free on the @thecw app! In the meantime, enjoy this video I made!"

Then, the video shows the landing stunt, set to the tune of "Eye of the Tiger." Leslie describes the process as feeling "like a freaking roller coaster," as she's being lowered to the ground via a harness crane. She stumbles a bit during the landing, though she assures viewers that this was keeping in character with Ryan's lack of overall experience with planes.

"Survived Much Worse" saw Ryan skydiving into Coryana to retrieve a Desert Rose flower to cure her Kryptonite poisoning. She also intended to rescue Kate Kane, Jacob Kane (Dougray Scott)  and Sophie Moore (Meagan Tandy) from Safiyah's (Shivani Ghai) forces. However, once she's arrived, it's revealed that Safiyah lied about having Kate in order to make Alice give up Ocean (Nathan Owens), despite knowing the whole time that her subordinate Tatiana forged evidence of her being responsible for Kate's plane crash.

In retaliation, Alice chose to burn down the remainder of Safiyah's Desert Rose gardens, an act that briefly left Ryan without a cure and closer to death. Then, Luke Fox (Camrus Johnson) reveals, unbeknownst to everyone, that the plant that Ryan received from ex-girlfriend Angelique (Bevin Bru) was a Desert Rose and a cure is in sight for Ryan.

Batwoman stars Javicia Leslie as Ryan Wilder, Rachel Skarsten as Alice, Meagan Tandy as Sophie Moore, Camrus Johnson as Luke Fox, Dougray Scott as Jacob Kane and Nicole Kang as Mary Hamilton-Kane. New episodes air Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
