Batwoman may challenge the cowl's no-killing rule in its seventh episode.
The synopsis for Season 2, Episode 7, "It's Best You Stop Digging" hints that Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie) seeks vengeance against Alice (Rachel Skarsten) for killing her mother.
Batwoman's Season 2 revelation came after Ryan and Alice's stories find a common goal -- locate Coryana so that Ryan can cure her Kryptonite poisoning and Alice can discover Kate Kane's (Ruby Rose) whereabouts and learn how Safiyah Safiyah (Shivaani Ghai) erased her memories of a romance with Ocean (Nathan Owens).
In Season 2, Episode 6, "Do Not Resuscitate" scientists at Hamilton Dynamics also showed interest in finding Coryana. Desiring a miracle cure like the one Mary used to combat Alice's infected bats, they cannot properly synthesize that type of drug again. without a new Desert Rose. The episode ended with Ryan/Batwoman reluctantly giving those scientists a map to Coryana to protect Sophie Moore (Meagan Tandy), which was revealed to have been hidden underneath the blood of a Jack Napier painting.
Batwoman's Season 1 regularly tested Kate Kane's relationship with the "no killing" rule, something long equated with Batman's moral code as a crime-fighter. Crisis on Infinite Earths provided Kate with a cautionary tale of this violation when she met an older, alternate universe Bruce Wayne (played by longtime Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy) who had forsaken his aversion to murder long ago and became a broken man as result.
Later, Kate ended up breaking the code herself after learning that Alice/Beth Kane's childhood captor August Cartwright had also murdered their mother and, in a rage, strangled him to death. While Alice thought this act would bring them closer together, Kate ended up betraying her sister and locking Alice in Arkham Asylum, causing her to swear vengeance.
