Falcon & Winter Soldier Star Expects Bigger Fan Theories Than WandaVision's

Georges St-Pierre, who plays Batroc in the upcoming The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, believes that the upcoming Marvel TV show will stir up even more theories and speculation than its predecessor, WandaVision.

In an interview with The Complex Sports Podcast, the actor was asked about what fan reaction might be like for the series in comparison with WandaVision. "I think it will be even, maybe, it could be even bigger, it's huge," he answered. "They put so much budget into this thing, it's incredible." When pressed for details about his character, however, St-Pierre was more reticent. "It's all very compartmented. I only know what I needed to know, I don't know the whole story… Even if I wanted to tell you stuff, I couldn't. They're very good at hiding stuff."

He did, however, add, "One thing I can tell you is that I have more screen time, and my character has more to do with the story, so it was very, a lot of fun for me."

St-Pierre debuted as Georges Batroc, a.k.a. Batroc the Leaper, in 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He was an Algerian mercenary and master kickboxer who took over a S.H.I.E.L.D. freighter with a crew of pirates, only to be foiled by Cap and his team and captured by S.H.I.E.L.D.

Since its announcement, WandaVision has fueled the imagination of Marvel fans, with many theorizing on what the show could introduce to the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe's narrative. While some predictions were on point or at least near the mark, others -- such as Dottie's true identity, an appearance from Doctor Strange or anything related to the couple in the commercials -- have been debunked either in the show or by the creative team.
