Lucifer Boss Says Season 5B Trailer Will Make You ’S—-‘ Yourself

On March 29, Lucifer announced when its highly anticipated Season 5b would hit Netflix.

Although Luci-fans will have to wait until May 28th for the second half of Season 5b to debut on Netflix, Lucifer's co-showrunner Joe Henderson shared his thoughts on Season 5b's trailer. "You guys are gonna shit yourself when you see that trailer," he told Wordballoon.

Henderson continued, "It is awesome. I mean, the season itself is awesome, but when you guys see the trailer -- I will warn everyone that the trailer does have some spoilers that you might not want to see -- but it won't ruin the experience, it will only add to it in my opinion." He added, "But it's got a lot. I was just watching it and I was like, 'Did we do all that in eight episodes? Wow!'"

When asked when Luci-fans could expect Season 5b's trailer to drop, he added, "It's awesome. As for when for the trailer? I don't know. Sometime between now and May 28."

Season 5A of Lucifer debuted on Netflix in August 2020, ending with a devilish cliffhanger. Last fans saw of the devilish detective, he came face-to-face with his angelic brothers Michael, Amenadiel and their father, God (Dennis Haysbert). "Dear Old Dad" arrived to stop the impending fight that erupted over Lucifer and Amenadiel's fear that Michael had somehow hurt -- or will -- hurt Charlie, Amenadiel's seemingly mortal son.

Although most of Season 5b's plot still remains a mystery, Henderson has shared some details about what fans can expect in Season 5b's upcoming episodes and Lucifer's sixth and final season. Among other threads, Henderson teased that Season 5b will explore Lucifer as the "wayward son," finally coming to terms with his strained relationship with his father.

Recently, Mazikeen star Lesley Ann-Brandt also revealed that her character won't end up becoming the Queen of Hell by the show's end. Brandt added, however, that she'd "definitely" be in for a series spinoff focused on Maze's journies in Hell. Brandt also teased that Season 5b will show the "deep, deep love" between Lucifer and Maze."

Lucifer stars Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar, Lauren German as Det. Chloe Decker, D.B. Woodside as Amenadiel, Rachael Harris as Dr. Linda Martin, Kevin Alejandro as Det. Dan Espinoza, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen Smith and Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez. Season 5 is currently streaming on Netflix. Season 5B arrives May 28.
