Resident Evil Village to Host Showcase Event, Announces Re:Verse Beta

Resident Evil Village will have its own showcase event as part of a celebration of Resident Evil's 25th anniversary, where more details on an open beta for the Resident Evil Re:Verse multiplayer will be revealed.

The event will take place in April, where players will get a closer look at the game as well as more news surrounding the Resident Evil franchise. The previous Resident Evil Showcase unveiled the first official trailer for Village, as well as the upcoming Resident Evil Re:Verse. More updates will be available at the official Resident Evil Twitter account.

In addition to a new look at Resident Evil: Village, players will also be able to partake in a beta test for Resident Evil Re:Verse. The beta starts on April 7 at 11 p.m. PDT and lasts until April 10 at 10:59 p.m. PDT. It will feature players taking on the roles of characters across the Resident Evil universe. When players are killed in battle, they will resurrect as bioweapons and seek revenge.

The Resident Evil franchise will also undergo a reboot for the big screen titled subtitled Welcome To Raccoon City, along with an expansion on Netflix. The streamer plans to release the Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness CG anime series in 2021, as well as a live-action series focusing on the Wesker family from Andrew Dabb (Supernatural).

Resident Evil Village arrives on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Steam May 7, and is currently available to pre-order.
