WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Savage Avengers #19 by Gerry Duggan, Kev Walker, Scott Hanna, Java Tartaglia and VC's Travis Lanham, on sale now.
The Savage Avengers are comprised of some of the toughest heroes from nearly every corner of the Marvel Universe. Conan of Cimmeria has proven himself to be the undisputed most brutal member of the team, though even with his already incredible stature, he is always looking to gain the next edge over the competition. Most recently he has done so by bonding once more with the alien symbiote he met during his time in the Savage Land. The blade of living darkness and seeming immunity to the draconic hordes is great, but there is always a greater power to be had, and Wolverine just made sure that Conan knows he won't find it with him or the Weapon X Program in Savage Avengers #19.
After trying to rob an old Hellfire Club mansion, Conan and Deadpool encounter the X-Men and decide to team up to strike back at Knull. All they have to do is beat down and bring back Storm and Cyclops, both currently keeping watch over Knull's impromptu fortress atop the Empire State Building. Conan is willing to forgo payment in exchange for meeting with Wolverine instead, and although the mission is unsuccessful, he is still able to collect on what he was promised.
Logan doesn't know exactly what Conan wants, but he walks into the room already assuring the Cimmerian that he won't be getting any upgrades from Weapon X anytime soon. The secret program that made Wolverine into the adamantium-laced killing machine he is now was razed to the ground, and its operators were buried underneath by the mutant when he was finally able to escape. The trauma of the experience left Logan with deep scars both physically and mentally.
Luckily, this isn't what Conan wanted to speak about. Instead, Conan asked Logan to tell the Hellfire Corporation that the mansion is no longer theirs. It certainly isn't what Logan was expecting, but he's happy to oblige anyway.
It might seem strange that Logan came into the room expecting Conan to ask about his powers, but the ancient hero has been enamored with Wolverine since the two first met in the Savage Land. Apart from Wolverine's healing factor piquing Conan's interest, the Cimmerian has shown an incredible enthusiasm for the mutant's claws. Not only is Conan a fan, he wants a set for himself, going so far as to gleefully recreate the iconic "snikt" sound while discussing the matter with Deadpool.
While Conan the Barbarian has embraced everything from symbiotes to Avengers team-ups since joining the Marvel Universe, it seems like the Cimmerian won't be meeting with Weapon X anytime soon, as long as Wolverine can help it.
