Snowpiercer Just Created a SHOCKING New Super-Soldier | CBR

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Snowpiercer Season 2, Episode 8, "The Eternal Engineer."

Season 2 of Snowpiercer finds Sean Bean's Wilford unleashing secret weapons on the 1,034 cars of the Eternal Engine. These events have shocked Layton (Daveed Diggs) and his regime because they underestimated the former boss of Big Alice, who's been using secret agents to stir up insurrection on the train, proving that, as Melanie warned, politics are powerful.

Now, in the show's latest episode, Wilford reveals one more trump card in the form of a shocking super-soldier, and it's someone who could change Layton's life on the interlocked trains completely.

This person is none other than Josie, whose body is healing after the Headwoods' scientific treatment with the "goop." Wilford visits her in the lab, and she's stunned at his compassion and kindness. She expected a monster when Layton sent her over to heal and, when she saw how Icy Bob was experimented on and weaponized, she felt her fears were coming true.

However, as Wilford helps her get over the ghost pain in her missing limb, her duty as a spy for Layton may change. They bond, with Wilford revealing he'll no longer keep her confined. As a result, a roaming Josie ends up in a cabin that allows her to stick her hand outside. She's able to feel again in the cold wilderness, but this time, her hand isn't damaged, which sends her into euphoria. Mel, in her evil days, punished Josie for being a rebel and conspirator by having her frozen and mutilated, but she a new lease on life now.

There are spots open for Josie as Wilford forms his new government, especially now that Icy Bob has served his purpose, sabotaging Snowpiercer and allowing Wilford to take it back. Bob may have met his end, but Josie could find purpose as his replacement, which Wilford has already hinted at. She already hates how Layton sided with Hospitality and the upper classes and that promises of elections, freedom and democracy never came to fruition. To make matters worse, Layton partnered with Mel, who not only tried to kill her but took her son, Miles, away. Add all that in with the fact Audrey's with Wilford again, and it seems like Josie could sway towards Wilford.

Apart from rebuilding her, literally, he can bring her son back, and if Mel comes aboard, she may be presented with the opportunity for revenge. There is hope, though, because Layton's been taken to be jailed on Big Alice, that she might come around. But seeing as he's awaiting the birth of his child with Zahrah, Josie might come to find Wilford's way really is the best when it comes to surviving.

Snowpiercer stars Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, Alison Wright, Mickey Sumner, Susan Park, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Lena Hall, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand and Jaylin Fletcher. The two-part Season 2 finale will air on March 29 at 9pm ET/PT on TNT.
