In Season 6, Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost left Team Flash to spend time with her geneticist mother to help heal her wounds from her battle with Sunshine. Season 6's finale also helped Killer Frost (Caitlin's alter-ego) come to terms with meeting Caitlin's mother for the first time and decidedly letting their mother get to know this side of her daughter.

The Flash's Season 7 premiere dealt with Team Flash rebuilding Barry's (Grant Gustin) speed through the use of an artificial speed force. However, it turned out in Season 7, Episode 2 that the speed force has a drastic downside -- causing Barry Allen to think so efficiently that he loses touch with his emotions completely when he's using this new speed force. Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost returned to Team Flash in the newest season's second episode, after the team seemingly suffered the loss of Wells.

Grant Gustin described this new side to Barry Allen as being Spock-like, comparing him to the iconic Star Trek character who is hyper-logical. Gustin stated, "There was almost this computer-like staccato rhythm to the dialogue that we had to create, which meant I had to nail it." He further described, "There were big long-winded lines I had, and I had to get rid of my normal speech pattern as Barry, which was the biggest challenge. Not to mention the vernacular they gave me because the character is saying all of these big scientific, mathematical words that Barry would never usually use."

The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes and Tom Cavanagh. New episodes air Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
