Created by David Michelinie and Todd McFarlane, Venom made a partial appearance in 1988's Amazing Spider-Man #299 before making his first full appearance one month later in the landmark issue #300. The villainous Venom as we know him today was born when Spider-Man freed himself of the alien costume that bonded to him back during Secret Wars, which then bonded to one Eddie Brock. Venom made his live-action debut in 2007's Spider-Man 3, which starred Topher Grace as Eddie Brock. The character got his own standalone film in 2018's Venom, in which Eddie was played by Tom Hardy. Hardy will return for Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which is slated for release later this year.
