10 Dr. Stone Inventions You Can Create At Home | CBR

When he first depetrified in the Stone World, Senku quickly got to work. He immediately started to invent things, creating unique devices and processes that would allow him to comfortably survive in the wild. Given that he does not have much strength or stamina to rely on, he wanted to find ways to not only survive, but to make his life as convenient as possible.

Each episode in the Dr. Stone anime often tells viewers not to recreate the things Senku makes at home. This is because creating some of the things that he does can not only be dangerous but can also lead to criminal prosecution, such as creating wine from grapes. There are some relatively simple things that Senku creates or uses in an unconventional way.

10 The Grass Skirt Can Be Made From Tying Plants Around The Waist

After Senku depetrified and carefully preserved the pieces of stone that fell off of him, the first thing he did was find a way to cover himself up. He grabbed a nearby vine that was covered in an abundance of leaves, and tied it around his waist.

It was an effective but temporary means of giving himself modesty. This could be recreated at home, but wearing it out in public would not be the best idea.

9 Stone Tools Can Be Made From Chiseling Rocks

Senku created stone tools by chiseling rocks. In other words, he hit rocks together until he made them take on the shape that he wanted. It was a difficult process filled with trial and error, as many of his first attempts only made the rocks crumble into useless pieces.

He found that he had to hit the rocks together in a certain way. To make the face of the tool, he needed to chisel it in the air. To shape the edge sides, he pounded the rock against a flat surface to chisel two sides at once.

8 Wicker Baskets Can Be Made From Flexible Rods Or Plants

Senku is seen using a wicker basket, which is a basket capable of holding objects inside if it is made correctly. Flexible objects like willow branches are ideal for weaving, and the resulting basket can be surprisingly sturdy.

If the plants being used aren't flexible enough, then they need to be soaked in water for a little while until they are. Otherwise, there is a chance that the material will snap in the middle of weaving.

7 Rope Can Be Made From Plants With Thick Stems

Senku used his stone tools to cut plants with thick stems before pulling apart the fibers. Using what he called the "string cheese method," he twisted these fibers together, which resulted in makeshift rope.

The rope that Senku created resembled yarn, which is also made up of smaller strands. With the right type of plant or similar material, people should be able to recreate this method at home.

6 The Bow Drill Can Be Created With A Bow, A Rope, & A Pointed Stick

To create a fire, Senku first had to make a bow drill, which took the work out of rubbing two sticks together at a rapid pace. This invention was made from a curved piece of wood, one of the ropes that he made, and a stick with a sharpened end.

The rope looped around the pointed stick, and to start a fire, all he had to do was move the bow back and forth while he held the pointed stick down against another piece of wood, protecting his hand with another rock or chunk of wood. While the bow drill isn't hard to make, it's not a good idea to try it out indoors.

5 Salt Can Be Extracted From Sea Water

Salt was one of Senku's easiest inventions. When the water portion of saltwater evaporates when exposed to heat, only the salt is left behind. The salt is particularly useful, as it is able to preserve food.

This is absolutely necessary in a stone world where food does not come so conveniently. Salt is also good for flavoring, making many otherwise bland or bad-tasting but edible foods much easier to eat.

4 Soap Can Be Made From Calcium Carbonate

Calcium Carbonate is a common substance that is found in rocks, pearls, and shells. Senku obtains it after crushing up the seashells into a fine powder. Senku also gets this substance from seaweed, which turns into soap when combined with oil.

Soap is one of Senku's most important inventions, as it helps to prevent him from getting sick. Chrome is hardly impressed since he can make soap from charcoal lye.

3 The Flag Of Science Is A Cloth Tied To A Stick

As a member of her school's Handicrafts Club, Yuzuriha designed a piece of cloth with a picture of a rocket and some stars. Senku used some thin rope to tie this cloth to a long stick, creating the Stone World's first flag, which would represent the Kingdom of Science.

A flag is rather easy to make, and Yuzuriha's design is so simple that it would also be relatively painless to recreate. The cloth and stick were originally intended to act as a splint for Senku's neck, but it wasn't necessary.

2 Clams Can Be Used For Hair Removal

When Taiju complains about his thick facial hair, Senku comes up with a unique way to remove it. The process he comes up with is to use Clams as a pinching tool, which can grip the hairs and pull them out.

Taiju goes through this incredibly painful process. It works, but his face is completely red and swollen at the end. Although effective, there is no reason to really recreate this particular technique.

1 Bubbles Are Created From Blowing Soap Through Two Fingers

Thanks to his previous invention, soap, Senku was able to create bubbles. All he had to do was lather up his hands with soap, touch his thumb and first finger together to create an o-shaped, makeshift bubble wand, and blow.

With this method, he created a large number of bubbles that floated harmlessly through the air. Although this is not particularly useful, it can be entertaining to use self-made bubbles.
