10 Most Anticipated Isekai Anime Of 2021 | CBR

However impossibly, even though last year had over a dozen different isekai anime series released, this year seems to have just as many, if not more.  There's already been several isekai series to air this year, from series like the second season of Reincarnated as a Slime and the first season of Jobless Reincarnation.

Isekai fans will have plenty more to look forward to not just this Spring but this coming Summer and Fall as well. Not only will Jobless Reincarnation and Reincarnated as a Slime make their returns, something fans are waiting for with bated breath, but My Next Life As A Villainess and more will be hitting the stands as well.

10 Cheat Pharmacist's Slow Life Is About A Drugist Helping People In A Fantasy World

Another story about a salaryman transported to another world. This time, rather than having special powers that allow him to win every fight, he’s got the ability to create incredible drugs to help everyone around him.

Rather than being a super-serious action story, the series centers around the main character, Reiji, helping fantastical beings with their problems with the help of his drugs.

9 How Not To Summon A Demon Lord Season 2 Has Been Anticipated By Its Audience For Years

The first season of How Not To Summon A Demon Lord aired back in 2018. Since then, the light novels and manga have continued while the anime sat on the back burner. The series followed Takuma Sakamoto, a young man that was an ace in the MMORPG Cross Reverie.

He was so involved in that world he was summoned by a pair of women… but their summoning spell backfires, leaving both of the girls enslaved to him instead, while Takuma settles into being his in-game identity of a Demon King in another world.

8 I've Been Killing Slimes For 300 Years & Maxed Out My Level Is A Great Comfort Food Replacement

Azusa Aizawa woke up in another world after dying from overwork. Determined to take a permanent vacation, when she reincarnates as an immortal witch she decides to only kill slimes to make money and otherwise live an easy life.

But after three hundred years of doing that, Azusa becomes a max-level witch, and her name becomes known by people all over the world. This series should be a great comfort food anime for people looking for that this Spring.

7 The Saint's Magic Power Is Omnipotent Will Hopefully Be A Solid Reverse Harem

Sei was pulled into a fantasy world and meant to be a “Saint” that could help save the world. But the spell that brought her also brought someone else, who seems to be the person everyone wants.

This lets Sei get to live a life enjoying her incredible magical abilities, and she gradually settles into this new world. An overpowered isekai protagonist surrounded by beautiful men crushing on her, this series will be great for isekai fans.

6 How A Realist Hero Rebuilt The Kingdom Is A Change Of Pace From Combat-Focused Series

Kazuya Souma is brought to another world and he has a goal in mind: completely rebuild the kingdom. After being asked to marry the country’s princess, Souma comes up with a plan to help the country, but rather than doing it by defeating a specific enemy or army, he does so by helping the country through the use of basic economics.

For those exhausted with typical action isekai, this will be a refreshing break from the norm.

5 I'm Standing On One Million Lives Continues The Development Of A Cast Of Teenagers Struggling To Get Through Impossible Tasks

Yotsuya Yuusuke is transported to an alternate world and introduced to a being known as the Game Master once he gets there. He’s allowed to pick a class randomly and is given the Farmer class. He’s teamed up with classmates from school but they’re no more skilled than he is, and they have to complete a quest in a certain length of time if they hope to return to their world.

Standing on One Million Lives somehow managed to get another season, which means hopefully they can dig into these inexperienced teen heroes learning to make their way through a world they don’t understand and are completely unequipped to deal with.

4 Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 2 Is Easily One Of The Most Anticipated Anime Of The Year

Everyone’s favorite problematic anime makes its return. Genius strategist and fighter, Naofumi, and his partner and resident best character, Raphtalia, were in the middle of dealing with a threat that required multiple worlds to battle against one another in the hope of survival, and they were just beginning to expand its ranks when the previous season ended.

They were supposed to be giving this series another two seasons, and hopefully, they can finish the story.

3 Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Has A Massive Genre Shift For Fans To Come Back To

The most beautifully animated series that no one was talking about in the Spring season. It feels like Jobless Reincarnation might have gotten lost in the shuffle, but this might have been for the best, as the early parts of Jobless Reincarnation are somewhat hard to stomach, to say the least.

But with the series having undergone an abrupt genre shift, hopefully, things will improve in the characterization and make the show worth the amazing animation.

2 My Next Life As A Villainess Season 2 Gives Fans More Bakarina & Her Harem

The first season of My Next Life as a Villainess seemed like a perfect season to go out on, especially considering people didn't expect it to be so popular. Katarina Claes managed to successfully dodge her fate of being exiled or killed because she was the villain of the last video game she played.

But the light novel and manga both continue on after the group manages to defeat the villain of the first season, and it’s hard to turn down a series that’s this pure. Katarina is just a sweetheart who deserves the world.

1 Reincarnated As A Slime Finishes Up Its Season Two & Continues Rimuru's Rule

Reincarnated as a Slime made its return with the first half of season two and fans already believe it's a better season, but that’s just the beginning. Rimuru and his Tempest Village have started garnering the attention of the rest of the world, and the world reacting to them has had some adverse effects on the village as a whole.

There are many more plot twists to come, and hopefully, this second half of the season animates them as well as people are hoping.
