5 Shonen Anime Villains Who Would Get Along (& 5 Who Wouldn't)

With hundreds of new anime being released every year, it is quite expected for fans to experience overlaps. Now, these overlaps can be in terms of similar plots, similar-looking protagonists, or even characters that belong to different worlds but believe in similar ideologies.

It is the same when it comes to shonen villains. While a lot of them are evil characters who mindlessly kill innocent people, there are many others who kill because of their steadfast faith in their beliefs. If these characters were to ever meet each other, they would instantly bond over how many things they agree upon, including the kind of people they'd love to kill.

10 Would Get Along: Undertaker (Black Butler) & Ryuk (Death Note)

Both these shinigami (Gods of death) love meddling in the affairs of humans, but pretend to be mere overseeing entities that do not care about what happens after they’ve meddled in the human world.

Ryuk sharing the Death Note with humans and the Undertaker involving himself in experiments like that of the Bizarre Dolls, simply go on to show the lengths these Gods would go to amuse themselves. They would definitely hit it off well.

9 Wouldn’t Get Along: Eren (Attack On Titan) & Boros (One Punch Man)

Boros is a proud, loud, and aggressive alien who keeps seeking out strong opponents just to find that one man who could defeat him. On the other hand, Eren is someone who despises death and violence but feels violence is justified when used for the greater good.

Boros would view Eren as weak while Eren would think of Boros as just an arrogant fool who fought not for a higher purpose, but for his pride.

8 Would Get Along: Muzan (Demon Slayer) & Mahito (Jujutsu Kaisen)

Muzan and Mahito both like to portray themselves as very strong and powerful creatures, fueled partly by their superiority complexes. The truth is that they’re both cowards who run away when they see they’re losing a battle.

They also enjoy manipulating people, especially children, to “recruit” them only to discard them when they have served their purpose. Muzan did this with Rui while Mahito did the same with Junpei, with both of them dying in the end.

7 Wouldn’t Get Along: Lelouch (Code Geass) & Kotaro Yanagisawa (Assassination Classroom)

The idealistic Lelouch was filled with hatred for the people who subjugated his country and its people. On the other hand, Kotaro was a selfish and manipulative man who wanted Korosensei dead due to a personal grudge.

Lelouch would simply be disgusted by a man such as Kotaro because for him, a man who doesn’t kill for a higher purpose was nothing but a murderer.

6 Would Get Along: Himiko Toga (My Hero Academia) & Yuno Gasai (Future Diary)

They are both sadistic girls who have no qualms killing whoever got in their way, often resorting to deadly or torturous methods to inflict maximum pain upon their victims.

They also possess intense feelings towards members of the opposite sex, and both of them would spend most of their time gushing over their favorite murder weapons, or the objects of their desires.

5 Wouldn’t Get Along: Tsukasa (Dr. Stone) & Shiro (Deadman Wonderland)

Tsukasa has a strong ideology, and while he is violent, he only resorts to harming others only when he deems it necessary. He hates people in positions of power and he’d be disappointed in Shiro, whose entire world revolves around Ganta.

Shiro has no aims or goals and does not care who she harms (including Ganta’s own classmates) so long as she and Ganta are together. This would never sit well with Tsukasa.

4 Would Get Along: Father (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) & Father (Noragami)

Even though both these creatures are known as “fathers” they are actually terrible parents. For them, humans or their own children are nothing but tools that should be used and discarded as and when they please.

Both are extremely selfish, self-absorbed, and display borderline sociopathic tendencies, often indulging in emotional and psychological abuse just because they’re in a position to do so.

3 Wouldn’t Get Along: Ferid Bathory (Seraph Of The End) & Satan (Blue Exorcist)

Ferid is cunning and manipulative so he avoids fights wherever possible. Satan, on the other hand, is evil, arrogant, and excessively powerful so he does not need to ever avoid fights. In fact, he loves taking his opponents head-on.

Satan would look down upon Ferid, not only because of how he avoids confrontations but also because Ferid is too insignificant of a creature for Satan to even think twice about.

2 Would Get Along: Light Yagami (Death Note) & Stain (My Hero Academia)

The one thing common between both these villains is how neither of them kills indiscriminately. They had a reason (even if a twisted one) for killing bad/fake people and spared the lives of those they deemed innocent.

This was truer in Stain’s case, who gave up the idea of killing Todoroki and Deku when he saw that they were true heroes. Light and Stain would enjoy bonding over their shared ideals.

1 Wouldn’t Get Along: Lust (Fullmetal Alchemist) & Vaccine Man (One-Punch Man)

The Lust from the 2003 Fullmetal anime was quite different from the one in the 2009 anime. The former eventually started desiring to become a human because she was obsessed with the idea of what happened to humans after they died.

She would definitely be appalled by Vaccine Man’s philosophy of wiping out humanity entirely from the Earth just because he was unable to find a better solution to prevent pollution from taking over the planet.
