After a few delays, Black Widow is finally set to release in both theaters and on Disney+ Premier Access on July 9, with Scarlett Johansson reprising her role of the eponymous Avenger. Before the film hits theaters and the streaming service, its official MPAA rating has been released.
As revealed on the Exhibitor Relations Co. Twitter account, Black Widow will have the standard Marvel Cinematic Universe movie PG-13 rating.
"Marvel's BLACK WIDOW is finally a picture lock," the tweet announcing the rating read. "Just in time for its release in May...er...July. Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence/action, some language and thematic material."
Due to the current coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Black Widow was forced to miss its planned May release date last year and was instead given fellow upcoming MCU entry Eternals' Nov. 6 slot. It was then pushed back again to May 2021 before finally being given the aforementioned date of July 9. However, the plan to release the film simultaneously on Disney+ has caused controversy among theater chains.

Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.
Black Widow stars Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, O-T Fagbenle as Mason and Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff. The film arrives in theaters and on Disney+ Premier Access July 9.
