Lucifer: Netflix Releases a Devilishly Duplicitous Season 5B Poster

Netflix has revealed an official poster for the second half of Lucifer Season 5, which is slated to hit the streaming service on Friday, May 28.

The poster sees Lucifer (played by Tom Ellis) come face-to-face with his twin brother, Michael (also played by Ellis). Behind the brothers is a partially burned-out neon sign that reads, "Sin and sinner." The poster was shared to the official Netflix Geeked Twitter account alongside the caption, "May the best twin sin."

In the first half of Lucifer Season 5, series star Ellis began playing Michael the Archangel, the Devil's twin brother. Michael ventures to Earth and begins impersonating Lucifer in an attempt to ruin his brother's reputation and prove that he hasn't really changed. Michael is ultimately caught in the act and given a large scar on his face (which can be seen on the poster), that way he can never pose as Lucifer again.

Based on the DC/Vertigo Comics character of the same name created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg, Lucifer originally premiered on Fox in 2016. The network canceled the show after three seasons, with Netflix then reviving it for Season 4 and beyond. Lucifer Season 5 is 16 episodes long and has been split into two eight-episode parts. Season 5A arrived on Aug. 21, 2020, with Season 5B set to drop on May 28. Lucifer Season 5 was originally announced as the series' last, though the show was ultimately renewed for Season 6, which will wrap up the series. Lucifer Season 6 currently lacks a premiere date, but will be 10 episodes long.
