Resident Evil Village Debuts New Looks at the Capcom Game | CBR

Sony Interactive Entertainment has unveiled an all-new look at Capcom's upcoming horror game Resident Evil Village.

The PlayStation Blog shared new details and video clips for three recent revelations in Resident Evil Village, which come from a new Showcase confirming the return of The Mercenaries bonus mode, an April 24 demo for PS4 and PS5 gamers, and Resident Evil's opening moments captured on the PS5.

Some of the key highlights affecting Ethan Winters include changes to a player's health bar; the classic typewriter's return; a book that Winters keeps on himself that serves as a handy story recapper and objective identifier; clues found in Ethan's journal to the mysterious deadly threat stalking the village; the official name of Resident Evil Village's feral beasts (Lycans); the ability to move large objects to create barricades between attackers; the exploration of the village's homes and residents in need of help; an emphasis on Capcom's photogrammetry technology; different options for fights and kill techniques; and an encounter with Heisenberg spotlight in previous clips.

Finishing up the list of new items is more of Lady Dimitrescu; the introduction of new characters like Lady Dimitrescu and Heisenberg; and the unique situation Ethan Winters finds himself in as a solo protagonist, compared to previous Resident Evil games.

Developed and published by Capcom, Resident Evil Village will be released for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia on May 7.
