Just because a character is large doesn't necessarily mean that the character is violent, cruel, or mean. The term gentle giant is often used to describe towering characters who may look scary, but are actually incredibly sweet. Of course, sometimes, big is scary.
There are giants throughout anime that use their size and power to intimidate their enemies and tower over their opponents. Their physical size can make them more difficult to defeat and some giant villains are intelligent to boot. Other non-gentle giants are simply dangerous because their feral and bestial nature prevents them from listening to reason.

The Gleam Eyes was the boss of Floor 74 in Sword Art Online. The monstrous creature had towered over his opponents with horns and thick muscles. The players had to fight him in order to regain their freedom in the real world. Gleam Eyes was so powerful that it, unfortunately, managed to successfully kill some of the players before being defeated by Kirito.

Sloth was one of the Homunculi from Fullmetal Alchemist. He was created by Father. Despite being somewhat lazy, Sloth spent years creating a series of tunnels underneath the country of Amestris.
While Sloth isn't very bright, his incredible strength and large size allowed him to overcome nearly any opponent. He is very fast, but he lacks the intelligence to properly use his skills. Following orders, he managed to complete the gigantic, underground transmutation circle. Eventually, he was successfully defeated.

His thirst for revenge would eventually cause Eren to turn against his comrades, turning himself from hero to villain.
