10 MCU Characters Who Could Reappear In Loki | CBR

The MCU series that have appeared on Disney+ so far have included some surprising characters from previous films. With Loki getting closer and closer to dropping every day, speculation as to which characters might pop up on the series is running rampant.

While a lot of fans are looking for big MCU debuts, there are a lot of established MCU characters who could make a return in this series. What makes this a particularly compelling conversation is the fact that this series looks like it will feature a lot of time traveling. Any and all characters could appear, including ones who have passed away.

10 Odin Could Have More Advice For His Son

Not only is Thor: Ragnarok the best solo MCU movie for the Thunder God, but it's also one of the best MCU movies. In a heart-wrenching moment that stuck with fans, Odin quietly passed away on a piece of coast that would eventually become New Asgard.

While this moment was key to the plot of the movie, Odin may have more to tell his son. Loki's time-traveling could easily bring him back to Asgard, where he bumps into his deceased father. It could be a wonderful moment between father and son, or a brutal fight.

9 This Is A Chance To Bring Heimdall Back

A fan-favorite MCU character from Thor's corner of the mythology is certainly Heimdall. The former gatekeeper of the Bifrost survived Ragnarok and the fall of Asgard only to be murdered by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.

Loki's upcoming adventures could breathe new life into the character. While Thor's ship was destroyed, Heimdall's remains were presumably lost in space. He may actually still be alive. Loki could easily pull Heimdall out of harm's way, and bring him along for the adventure.

8 Jimmy Woo Makes Everything Better

If there's one truth that everyone who watched WandaVision learned, it's that Jimmy Woo is just a great character. A former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, Jimmy joined the FBI. The character made his MCU debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp, though his part in WandaVision was more impactful and developed.

While Jimmy Woo is an FBI agent, he just seems to be drawn to weird situations. There's a real chance that Loki popping up in the wrong place and at the wrong time could catch Agent Woo's attention. Even a cameo would be huge.

7 Lady Sif May Make Her Return

One character who has been conspicuous by her absence in recent years is Lady Sif. She wasn't part of Ragnarok, and did not play a role in either Infinity War or Endgame. All of this came as a surprise to fans.

But Loki could provide an excellent opportunity for her to re-debut. Sif could assist him in his mission, as well as providing him with some guidance on how things have changed. This Loki escaped during the events of The Avengers, so there's a lot he doesn't know about.

6 Loki May Reconcile With His Mother

Frigga's death in Thor: The Dark World was entirely unnecessary. It was treated as a contrived plot device in a film franchise that still needs more strong female characters. Plus, Frigga was the only one who showed Loki any real love or acceptance over the years.

When Thor jumped back in time in Endgame, he got the chance to have a final moment with his mother. Perhaps the new Disney+ series will afford Loki a similar moment, one that could be both poignant and character-defining for him.

5 Dr. Darcy Lewis May Swing By

A key secondary character in the first two Thor films, Dr. Darcy Lewis, was entirely absent from the third. She was also MIA from the finale of Phase 3 and the first complete MCU arc. It left fans wondering if they had seen the last of Darcy.

But she reemerged on WandaVision, frequently stealing every scene she was in. Fans would love to see her pop up again in Loki, particularly if she's alongside her new BFF and partner in crime, Agent Jimmy Woo.

4 Loki Could Trip Across Agatha Harkness

While WandaVision did an incredible job of reintroducing fans to some old friends who had already appeared in the MCU, it also introduced them to some new ones. Given Loki's mystical leanings, it wouldn't be a shock to see him run afoul of Agatha Harkness.

Agatha enjoys stealing mystical abilities and powers from other practitioners. While Scarlet Witch was an excellent target, Loki would be an even better source of energy. If nothing else, the confrontation between them would be incredible.

3 Shuri May End Up In The Middle Of The Mess

The future of Wakanda and the MCU is very much up in the air after the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman. Black Panther and his home country will continue to be an important presence, but how that will be achieved hasn't really been discussed in any detail.

Loki may provide an opportunity to start building the new infrastructure for the story of Wakanda. A good start would be bringing the fan-favorite character Shuri into the series. She would have a field day with the God of Mischief.

2 Dr. Erik Selvig Would Be Quite Helpful

In the early days of the MCU, Dr. Erik Selvig actually played a pretty big part. He appeared in the first two Thor movies as well The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron. At this point, he hasn't been seen since Age of Ultron, which is somewhat perplexing.

Being that Loki is going to end up caught up in high concept, science fiction action, some guidance from Selvig might actually be quite helpful. The only problem is that Erik might not be particularly happy to see him.

1 Wolfgang Von Strucker May Be Around

One of the biggest wastes in the MCU was Baron Wolfgang von Strucker. He appeared briefly in a couple of movies and was killed rather quickly. Considering how important an enemy he has been to Captain America and Nick Fury in the comics, this was highly disappointing.

Loki will provide an opportunity to fix that. The God of Mischief may end up encountering von Strucker in the past, or reveal that he's still alive in the present. The nature of the story means that anything could be possible.
