Ash's 10 Most Rebellious Pokémon | CBR

Pokémon is a very interesting series involving Ash Ketchum, his Pokémon, and their journey together. They train and evolve together through battles with other Trainers and their Pokémon, helping them evolve not only in terms of strength but also pushing them to grow personality-wise. Ash has possessed various Pokémon, some were the strongest and fastest like Greninja while others were mediocre.

His best companion has always been Pikachu and their similar personalities led them to make many friends. Ash, however, did experience his fair share of rebellious Pokémon. Some were mildly stubborn while others really cost him a lot.

10 Charizard Refuses To Help Ash

Charizard and Ash had one of the most intense love-hate relationships. Charizard was by far one of the most rebellious Pokémon that Ash possessed. From the beginning, it was disobedient as its skill level exceeded that of Ash. In their first fight against a Paras, Charizard attacked Paras despite Ash commanding it not to. Later when Ash got stuck in a cave, he tried to get Charizard to protect him against other Pokémon, but Charizard slept instead.

Charizard has refused to help Ash on numerous occasions, showing up only when it wanted to prove itself or when the battle progressed to a critical stage. Eventually, it learned to trust Ash and be there for him and even helped Ash rescue Pikachu.

9 Primeape Is An Irksome Character

Although Primeape was traded off after being caught by Ash, it was one of the most troublesome and mischievous Pokémon that Ash encountered. It terrorized everyone and even beat up Ash before being irritated by Team Rocket and turning into his Primeape form. It brutally tortured everyone until Ash caught it with the help of Charmander and then left it after Team Rocket.

Primeape was quite naughty but it was also irritable. It caused trouble when it was provoked but otherwise stayed relatively calm. Its relationship with Ash would have been interesting to witness.

8 Froakie Has Disobedience Issues

Froakie was a stubborn Pokémon from the beginning. It was known to be nitpicky and refused several trainers. This was until it met Ash, even then it was wary but eventually developed a strong bond with Ash.

Even though Froakie remained largely loyal, in the beginning, it once attacked Fletching and refused to stop even after Ash commanded it to. It takes pride in its abilities and this sometimes leads to acts of disobedience. It does not do this to be mischievous, but rather to stand by its beliefs.

7 Pikachu Refuses To Go Back In the Poké Ball

Pikachu had been with Ash since day 1, it was Ash's first-ever Pokémon. Although their relationship grew so much that they were inseparable, in the beginning, Pikachu was quite disobedient. It would zap Ash and did not care for Ash at all. It even refused to go into its Poké Ball and caused a lot of trouble for Ash.

By the end of their first day together, Ash gained Pikachu's trust after protecting it from a flock of Spearow. Even after this, there were many instances when Pikachu refused to go into its Poké Ball and would hang around on Ash's shoulder most of the time.

6 Snorunt Has A Penchant For Creating Trouble

Snorunt was a rebelling Pokémon in the beginning and created a lot of trouble for Ash. It stole his badge case and made Ash chase it, which ended up getting them stuck in a snowstorm. Ash got knocked out and Snorunt protected him and took care of Ash.

It then stole Ash's hat so he could lead the others to Ash, although this resulted in him getting yelled at by the others. Snorunt always stayed mischievous and indulged in pranking those around him. It was sometimes irrational but also full of life.

5 Farfetch'd Is Too Proud

Farfetch'd was a very proud Pokémon whose main aim in life was to become a Leek Master. It did everything it could to achieve this goal, including disobeying Ash's orders. It joined Ash in order to grow and become stronger. It tended to be unfriendly and standoffish, even attacking Ash with its Leek.

It has gone against Ash's orders and engaged in battle as it never backed down from a fight. Ash eventually won it over by his selfless act but even then Farfetch'd did not forget his end goal and made his moves accordingly.

4 Tauros Inflicted A Lot Of Harm (Mostly By Accident)

Ash did not use Tauros very often but they proved to be an asset in times of need. He caught 30 of them and had to turn them in to Professor Oak's lab. Although Tauros didn't cause much trouble, its tendency to cause a stampede wreaked havoc sometimes.

Their stampedes even caused a hole in Professor Oak's lab. They were very enthusiastic and got excited to see Ash, which caused them to create trouble without intending to. Most of their rebellion was an accident but it caused trouble nonetheless.

3 Lycanroc Lives In Vanity

Before evolving into Lycanroc, Rockruff ran away multiple times in order to better train itself. Ash chased it each time until it finally evolved and joined Ash again. Lycanroc was always proud of its appearance and would become furious if its fur got dirty or tainted.

It has gone on a rampage and aggressively attacked a Pokémon for spoiling its fur during a battle. This rage has made it cause destruction, although it was apologetic after. Lycanroc's anger caused it to rebel on various occasions.

2 Sceptile May Not Be Rebellious But He Was Stubborn

Sceptile was not openly rebellious but it was quite stubborn, which prompted actions that would be considered rebellious. Right before it evolved into Grovyle, it was acting weird and refused to eat food until it battled Loudred and evolved. After evolving, it became even more stubborn and refused to go into its Poké Ball.

Sceptile has had similar proclivities even later which led to mishaps and hurdles for Ash to overcome. Although Sceptile was a calm Pokémon most of the time, its stubbornness got the best of him on certain occasions.

1 Gengar Is A Mischievous Soul

Gengar formally belonged to a different Trainer who abandoned it. Even so, Gengar waited for its trainer patiently while causing mischief and trouble for others. Once it found out its Trainer's true intentions, it attacked him and then ran away.

It also hid in Ash's shadow and caused chaos for the people around it. It refused to be captured by anyone until Ash gained its trust, which caused Gengar to voluntarily join Ash's team. Its abandonment issues caused in it a rebellious streak but it always stayed loyal.
