Babyteeth: The Comic's Armageddon Gives the Devil a MASSIVE Upgrade

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Babyteeth #17 from Donny Cates, Garry Brown, Mark Englert and Taylor Esposito, on sale now.

Aftershock Comics' Babyteeth has returned with a bang as the truth about Satan's plan has been revealed. It turns out he has really been making babies on Earth, hoping that the Anti-Christ will emerge in one of them and open a portal for his army to come through from Hell. While his heritage as the Anti-Christ is questionable, Sadie's kid, Clark, ends up being able to open portals, which they use to escape Satan's wrath by hiding out at their old home in Utah.

In the latest issue, the Devil gets a massive upgrade and is poised to bring more demons to the mortal plane, which has seemingly been abandoned by God.

Thanks to Marty, the demonic Tanuki, Satan was flayed by a unique kind of mystical fire, which left him weak and broken in the previous issue. It allowed Sadie, her sister Heather, Clark, Olivia and Olivia's spawn of Satan, Simon, to escape, and since then they've been hiding out. But this issue finds them meeting up with Christine, Sadie's mom who tried to use them for the cult known as the Way.

Sadie and Co. blew their Maine mansion up earlier in the story, thinking Christine died, but the scarred mother and her demonic offspring Dancy are back, apparently regretful that they ever worked for the Dark Lord. However, Sadie isn't having it at all, as they lost Olivia to pneumonia, which causes Heather to beat Christine with a gun. Marty ambushes Dancy, creating a scene of chaos as Sadie's camp is angry that the Way pushed them down this path.

If not for them running from the Way, which caused them to fall through Clark's portal into Hell, Sadie wouldn't be on the run now from Satan. His forces have spread all over Earth, bringing about the Armageddon as God decided not to get involved, so Sadie can't trust anything her mom's saying, especially Christine's apologies. Christine is admittedly heartbroken Sadie's dad, Mike, died in Hell while helping them escape, but it still doesn't convince Sadie.

However, as they all continue to argue, Sadie begins to feel earthquakes happening across the globe. They're the same ones that resonated with her when she became pregnant with Clark, so she can literally feel other babies like him being born. Christine then admits that with no intervention from God, Satan has been impregnating women all over, creating an army of Anti-Christs.

As for these kids, it seems that with the Devil on the earthly plane, he's actually able to create more children like Clark, who can pull demons into the world from Hell. This means that it's literally Hell on Earth, and Simon, who's older than Clark, may have to become a warrior sooner rather than later in order to stop his 'siblings.'
