The level of fandom and appreciation towards Hirohiko Araki’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series is hard to top and it’s helped his exciting series consistently defy expectations and surprise audiences for several decades. The sixth chapter in the sprawling JoJo saga, Stone Ocean, is a thrilling continuation of the larger narrative that features a brand new “JoJo” as well as some formidable new threats. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure features some truly incredible villains throughout its run, but Stone Ocean’s Enrico Pucci is a particularly important enemy.

10 He's Committed To Bringing DIO's Fantasy To Life

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure showcases an eclectic roster of villains throughout its various parts, but DIO is largely considered to be the main antagonist of the series and a character that continually finds ways to exert his influence, even long past his death.

Pucci becomes enchanted with DIO's plans to trigger a prophecy that will "achieve heaven." Pucci's desire to carry out DIO's final wish largely drives the plot of Stone Ocean and has major repercussions on the future of the JoJo universe once it triggers a completely new reality that overwrites the existing one.

9 He's A Priest & The Prison Chaplain At GCDP

Some of the most interesting villains out of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series come from trusted positions of authority, which only makes them more twisted. Enrico Pucci has a history as a priest, but his radical beliefs mixed ogether with DIO's own controversial philosophies create a complicated belief system within Pucci where he believes in the power of fate's "gravity" and the public being confronted by their destiny.

Pucci uses his experience as a priest to become the chaplain at Green Dolphin Street Prison, a position that he holds for eight years, and becomes the prison’s most senior employee.

8 He Technically Has Three Separate Stands

There are unique cases and individuals that are able to get extra mileage out of their Stands. Pucci's original Stand is Whitesnake, which has the specific ability to steal individuals' Stand and Memory DISCs. Pucci's Whitesnake Stand gradually turns into C-Moon, which can manipulate gravity, after he acquires the right DISCs and carries out the instructions from DIO's Diary and acquires DIO's bone.

Finally, the perfected version of this process transforms C-Moon into Made in Heaven, an unfathomable Stand that can speed up the flow of time to the point that the universe ends and starts over.

7 He Has A Twin Brother, Wes Bluemarine, Who He Robs Of His Memory

A sordid soap opera plays out within the Pucci family and these twisted events irrevocably alter his path in life. Enrico cherishes his sister Perla and laments when he learns that she’s in a relationship with Wes Bluemarine, who is actually Enrico’s estranged twin brother, who was presumed to be dead.

Perla is unaware of the connection that she shares with Wes, but the truth causes a major schism that results in Perla’s suicide. Enrico is left to clean up this mess, which results in him stealing Wes’ Memory DISC and him adopting the moniker Weather Report.

6 DIO Heals His Disabled Foot

There’s some very interesting subtext between Enrico Pucci and DIO during their flashbacks together in Stone Ocean. The interactions between these two are reserved to the past, but a fascinating story is told over how these two enter each other’s lives.

Not long after Pucci and DIO’s initial meeting, DIO embraces Pucci’s twisted foot, a symbol of embarrassment for him throughout his life. Pucci is astounded when DIO’s touch heals his foot, which only furthers Pucci’s obsession and devotion to DIO as he begins to view him as more than a normal person.

5 He's Responsible For Jolyne Cujoh's Framing

Stone Ocean kicks off with Jolyne Cujoh stuck in Florida’s Green Dolphin Street Prison and even though she has a decent criminal history, she’s actually framed for this particular crime. Jolyne’s incarceration is just one element of Enrico Pucci’s master plan to “achieve heaven,” just like DIO wanted.

Pucci needs to learn the instructions from DIO’s Diary, which is burned but has been read by Jotaro Kujo. Pucci plans to steal Jotaro’s Memory DISC so he can learn DIO’s plan. Jolyne’s incarceration turns her into the bait that’s necessary to make Jotaro enter the prison and get in Pucci’s way.

4 He Has A Secret Stash Of Stands

Stands continue to gain more depth throughout JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, but Stone Ocean introduces some of the biggest revisions to the powerful concept. Pucci’s Stand, Whitesnake, allows him to steal Stands from other individuals, yet they manifest from special DISCs.

Pucci is limited to how many of these DISCs he can carry at once and it’s eventually revealed that he stores any extras within a special reserve hidden away on a farm. Pucci stores Jotaro’s Star Platinum Stand here, as well as the Highway to Hell and Marilyn Manson Stands that he gives to Thunder McQueen and Miraschon, respectively.

3 He Loses His Sister To Tragic Circumstances

Family is a major theme in Stone Ocean, whether it’s expressed through Jotaro and Jolyne, the connection between DIO and his illegitimate offspring, or the surrogate family that Enrico Pucci tries to build for himself after he overcomes tragedy. Pucci feels a great sense of protection over his sister, Perla.

Perla ends up in an impossible situation that culminates in her taking her own life. Which shatters Pucci for a long time. The loss that Pucci feels over Perla’s death plays a major factor in how he later aligns with DIO and turns to him for guidance.

2 He Uses Prime Numbers As A Grounding Technique

Something that Hirohiko Araki never fails at is his ability to inject unusual character quirks into the larger-than-life personalities that occupy JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. These deadly individuals often have strange idiosyncrasies that either give them depth or turn into unlikely weaknesses.

Pucci himself has some strange habits, one of which is his tendency to recite prime numbers when he finds himself in heavy stress. Pucci goes over prime numbers in ascending order as a way to ground himself and center his mind from unnecessary distractions.

1 He Takes Out A Member Of The Joestar Family

There is a lot of debate over who’s the best member of the Joestar family. However, there's a great amount of love for Jotaro Kujo considering the development that he experiences throughout Stardust Crusaders, Diamond is Unbreakable, and finally Stone Ocean.

Jotaro has taken out major enemies, like DIO, but he unfortunately meets his end, courtesy of Pucci and his determination to accomplish DIO's goal. Pucci initially leaves Jotaro in a coma after he steals his Stand and Memory DISCs, but after he regains his faculties, Pucci successfully slices Jotaro's face in two and finishes the legendary member of the Joestar lineage.
