Lucifer Boss Reveals His Deadly Cameo in Season 5B | CBR

WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Lucifer's Season 5B, streaming now on Netflix.

Lucifer's Season 5B finale saw Maze commanding a horde of demons to attack Luci's angelic siblings that opposed him becoming God and who'd rather support the deceitful Michael.

However, one of these demons turned out to be the hit Netflix series' co-showrunner Joe Henderson. While interviewing the showrunner, Henderson surprised me by revealing who he played in the season finale, stating, "Picture this beard gone, then picture an undead demon running towards an angel and getting his head cut off and flying across the camera."

Henderson added, "That's me. I do my own stunts, people. It's funny, I shaved my face for it because you save money if you don't have to digitally erase a beard."

When asked how he got involved in the battlefield scene in the first place, he shared that it had to do with production costs, stating, "It was one of those things where we want to behead a demon. And they're like it costs a certain amount of money for a certain amount of hair. And then they were like, 'If someone was bald, it would be cheaper.' And they were like, 'Joe would you shave your beard?' The actor that played Jophiel [Miles Burris] was awesome and kind and very patient with my stunt work. I had to fall to the ground, 'cause my head was cut off."

After Lucifer Season 5B dropped on Netflix, Henderson shared a behind-the-scenes look with him and his on-screen murderer, Jophiel, on Twitter.

For superfans curious about when, exactly, Henderson arrived on-screen during 5B, his demon form and beheading can be found in Season 5, Episode 14, right after Chloe is revived -- approximately with six minutes and twenty-three seconds left of the episode.

Although Maze teamed up with Amenadiel, Eve and Chloe readied to fight Heaven, Lucifer ends the battle. In Season 5B's final moments, a resurrected Lucifer returns to Earth as God, leading his siblings to bend a knee to him and him utterly unsure about what's next. Although Henderson didn't reveal how Lucifer will process this change of occupation, he shared that it'll be a struggle explored in Season 6, stating, "As someone who has wanted the power but, got it when he didn't want it, what's gonna be the push-pull for him as he faces that?"
