My Hero Academia: 10 Anime Fire Users Stronger Than Bakugo | CBR

At present, Bakugo is the strongest student of Class 1-A in the My Hero Academia universe. He defeated both Todoroki and Izuku Midoriya on separate occasions, solidifying his position as the most promising pupil under Eraserhead's tutelage.

As potent as his explosions may be and as conducive as they are to his mobility in battle, there are many fire users from other anime whose power vastly overshadows his own. By identifying the fire-based opponents Bakugo stands no chance against, we have a firmer understanding of the limits behind his abilities.

10 Itachi's Amaterasu Is Tenacious & Devastating (Naruto)

The Amaterasu was a Sharingan ability that could produce black flames that smothered its target. Unlike Bakugo's explosion quirk (which has been survived even from point-blank impact, as seen through his fight against Deku), Itachi's flames aren't as easy to dissuade.

Though it taxes his eye and weakens his vision, the Amaterasu will continue to devour its target until nothing is left. This was proven when Itachi's brother Sasuke employed the technique against Killer Bee, rapidly engulfing the Eight-Tails' body and forcing him to retreat.

9 Yamamoto Could Summon Pillars Of Fire On A Whim (Bleach)

Yamamoto was the leader of the 13 Gotei Squads and arguably the most powerful warrior in the Soul Society. He was responsible for defeating a creation Aizen had used specifically to engineer his demise and could unleash devastating columns of fire at a moment's notice.

Not only does the elder possess immeasurably higher combat experience than Bakugo, but his stamina, agility, and physical strength are also far more impressive. Considering this, Bakugo doesn't have a single advantage if the two should ever clash in a battle.

8 Avdol's Stand Is Proficient In Both Close & Medium-Ranged Brawling (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)

Avdol's Magician's Red would have a massive advantage over Bakugo with the fact that only Stand users can see one another. Consequently, Bakugo would be forced to react to the man's flames the second they were produced if he didn't want to be scorched.

Additionally, Avdol has proven himself to be a worthy melee fighter, capable of defeating Cameo in seconds and even lasting against Jotaro's Star Platinum for a time (which was strong enough to throw bulldozers and catch bullets). Though Bakugo may command greater firepower, Avdol's versatility would lead to success in battle.

7 Ozai Almost Incinerated An Entire Country In Minutes (Avatar)

Ozai was a warlord of incredible martial prowess. During Sozin's Comet, he was strong enough to incinerate the Earth Kingdom in minutes and would have succeeded if not for Aang's intervention.

In addition to possessing unusually high durability (capable of being smashed through rocks and enduring Aang's attacks even in the Avatar state), he could also shoot lightning just as proficiently as Azula did. Since Ozai is also capable of flight, he would deny Bakugo's typical advantage of mobility and overwhelm him with a jettison of fire.

6 Endeavor Can Fly Better Than Bakugo & Possesses Higher Firepower (My Hero Academia)

Endeavor embodies the echelons that Bakugo has yet to reach. In addition to flying more proficiently than his youthful counterpart (capable of concentrating flames to his feet for full mobility, rather than frenetically lunging across the battlefield with explosions), he also has greater raw force.

Though Bakugo could detonate an entire block at the peak of his strength, the new Symbol of Peace was capable of reducing most of a skyscraper to ash with a single attack. Given his superior feats, Endeavor's victory is assured through all measurable criteria.

5 Ace's Body Was Made Of Flames, Providing Resilience To Bakugo's Attacks (One Piece)

Ace's firepower surpasses Bakugo's own, as illustrated through his accomplishments in protecting his brother. He obliterated an entire Baroque Works galleon with a single blast and engulfed an island in fire during his battle against Blackbeard.

Additionally, his devil fruit ensures that he can convert his bodily physiology into flames on a whim. Subsequently, Bakugo's explosions would be meaningless against him even in the unlikely event that he'd have a chance to land them.

4 Monspeet's Demon Physiology Provided Many Advantages (Seven Deadly Sins)

Monspeet was a member of the Ten Commandments whose demon physiology greatly enhanced his resilience above the Class 1-A student's. As impressive as his demon physiology renders his body, the villain's greatest strength is through his offensive potential.

He was capable of creating fire birds potent enough to fell Meliodas (a hero powerful enough to destroy castles casually through the impact of his brawls). Conversely, Bakugo requires dozens of explosions to defeat even the most mundane adversaries, as demonstrated in his battle against Uraraka during the Sports Festival.

3 Shinra Synthesized His Ignition Ability With His Combat Skills Wonderfully (Fire Force)

Shinra is stronger than Bakugo in every conceivable way. He was durable enough to withstand dozens of slashes through the chest by Sho, skilled enough to defeat Rekka despite the man's advantage in experience, and fast enough to surpass the speed of light itself when using an Adolla Link.

Unlike his Class 1-A counterpart, Kusakabe can condense his flames and therefore magnify their potency considerably. Additionally, he can use them to accelerate the force of his kicks, turning his own body into a formidable weapon.

2 Bols Was Capable Of Unleashing A Canyon-Wide Explosion With His Imperial Arms (Akame Ga Kill!)

Though Bakugo has considerable advantages over Bols in mobility, the villain's stamina and firepower would mend their disparity. His imperial arms were powerful enough to detonate an entire canyon when the tank he carried on his back was forced to its limit.

More impressively, Bols managed to survive the backlash of the explosion despite his proximity to it, thereby illustrating his resilience to flames. While the villain would sustain grievous injuries against Bakugo, his flamethrower would reduce the boy into a charred, writhing mass.

1 Hiruzen Sarutobi Controlled All Releases Styles (Naruto)

Hiruzen Sarutobi wielded fire alongside every other element, immediately rendering him a versatile and unpredictable adversary for Bakugo to contend with. Though the fledgling hero may have an advantage in mobility on account of his explosions, the shinobi was skilled enough to contend with two kage and a sannin simultaneously. This illustrates that he'd be able to dodge Bakugo's attacks or simply block them with a mud wall.

Summoning Enma would be an excellent strategy for engineering Bakugo's defeat if he decides not to finish him off directly with the fire style technique.
