The Naruto universe's Chunin Exams provided the test necessary for many fledgling genin to determine whether or not they would advance as shinobi. It consisted of three main trials; the written test, the Forest of Death, and the final tournament.
Through gauging how the characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe would fare in this gauntlet, we can better appreciate their intelligence, versatility, and power. It is important to bear in mind that it isn't required to win the tournament to pass the exam; one must only perform adequately and to the standard expected of them (as proven through Shikamaru).
10 PASS: Captain America Balances Perseverance & Leadership With Strength
One of Steve Rogers' best qualities is that he never gives up. This would allow him to pass the written stage of the Chunin Exam despite having no means of cheating. In fact, even if he did have a way of cheating, he likely wouldn't even bother with it on account of his upstanding morality.
Additionally, the man has led the Avengers on missions against Baron Strucker's HYDRA forces and held his own against Ultron using only his bare hands. His leadership skills and combat prowess evince success in the Forest of Death and tournament challenges, respectively.
9 FAIL: Loki's Mind Stone & Illusions Aren't Tailored Toward The Test's Challenges
Loki's greatest assets are the Mind Stone and the ability to create illusions of himself (as proven through his fight against Thor at the conclusion of the movie sharing his namesake).
Though it's possible that he might pass the written exam by mind-controlling a ninja who was capable of cheating (such as Shino or Kiba), he would lose almost immediately in the subsequent tournament for how badly he is outclassed. Neji's strikes are much too quick for him to retaliate against, Rock Lee can reach speeds faster than he is able to comprehend, and Gaara's sand shield ensures that the God of Tricks will never touch him.
8 PASS: Hela's Power Eclipsed Thor's & Bordered On Godlike
Hela's strength eclipsed even Thor's, who in turn was capable of shattering colossal rock golems and other giants in a single hit. Having never displayed indecision before, her confidence would see her through the written test, and she wouldn't require allies to pass the Forest of Death.
Considering that none of the series' shinobi could rival Surtur in power (a being strong enough to destroy planets), it follows that Hela could dominate them with similar ease.
7 FAIL: Iron Monger Is Insecure & Clumsy In His Armor
Obadiah Stane was the former business partner of Tony Stark and the wielder of the Iron Monger suit. Throughout the first movie, he displayed constant anxiety and trepidation about the success of his plans (as proven through his frustration in failing to imitate his rival's prosthetic heart). This suggests he would fail the written exam with how easily he can be flustered and unnerved.
Even if he somehow managed to reach the Forest of Death, Iron Monger has low charisma and a suit with finite battery life, which proved his undoing in the first movie when Stark flew him into the clouds and capitalized on his poor foresight. Subsequently, he'd likely have his scrolls taken from him before ever reaching the tournament.
6 PASS: Ant-Man's Shrinking Would See Him Through Any Challenge
Ant-Man may not have Captain America's fortitude or unwavering outlook, but he does have a viable means of cheating in the written exam. By excusing himself to use the bathroom and returning when shrunken, he can record the answers he needs to pass the test comfortably.
Additionally, his Pym particles would allow him to defeat otherwise impossible adversaries, penetrating Gaara's sand defenses like Deidara's clay insects and striking down Rock Lee before the taijutsu master could ever even perceive him.
5 FAIL: Killian Has A Short Temper & Inability To Make Allies
After transforming his body, Killian was able to unleash lava-like substances at his adversaries and regenerate from seemingly impossible wounds. This entails that he would be successful against many of the exams' melee-oriented opponents, such as Lee, Sasuke, and to a certain degree, Naruto.
However, the villain has displayed an inability to keep his emotions in check and extreme frustration when his goals are impeded, proven when he was rejected by Tony Stark. Consequently, he'd lose his temper in the written exam and never have a chance to prove his skills.
4 PASS: Iron Man Is Competent, Charismatic, & Powerful
Iron Man is perfectly suited to the rigors of the Chunin Exam for the diverse nature of his technology. He would be able to use JARVIS in order to spy on whichever shinobi might have the answers he needs (or possibly even deduce them himself).
Like Captain America, Tony is a capable leader and could organize a team in the Forest of Death successfully. His jet propulsion and explosive rounds would also provide invaluable assets against the tournament's toughest challenges and are potent enough to compromise even Gaara's robust defenses.
3 FAIL: Black Widow's Martial Arts Wouldn't Keep Her On Par With The Genin
Black Widow was a skilled martial artist who could defeat dozens of armed guards on her own. Seasoned through a grueling childhood, she commands the mental fortitude necessary to pass the written exam (especially given her background in espionage).
However, her combat skills are vastly overshadowed by Rock Lee's own, a taijutsu genius who failed to pass the test. Though she may be able to use subtlety and cunning to pass the Forest of Death, Widow would be eliminated immediately in the first round of the tournament for her limited arsenal.
2 PASS: Captain Marvel Was A Powerhouse Who Could Take Out Entire Alien Fleets
While Captain Marvel may not have any means of passing the written exams, her confidence and decisiveness evince that she wouldn't surrender in spite of the ultimatum that Ibiki issued.
Durable enough to trade blows with the strongest Cree warriors and strong enough to obliterate entire alien armadas in seconds (proven in the final fight of Endgame), Marvel possesses the raw strength and speed required to dominate any ninja who might stand against her - including the conniving Orochimaru, should their paths cross.
1 FAIL: Hawkeye's Pessimistic Personality & Limited Arsenal Would Hold Him Back
Hawkeye has illustrated a pessimistic personality and weak willpower on a number of occasions. He struggled to come to grips with himself after being dominated by Loki's Mind Stone and had his spirit crushed after failing to stop Thanos' finger snap. This evinces that he'd give up in the written stage of the Chunin Exams.
Even if he didn't, his arsenal is extremely limited and would portend an expedited defeat at the beginning of the tournament. Given how Tenten's ninja tools failed to scratch Temari despite their vastly superior abundance and caliber, Hawkeye's arrows would be equally inconsequential.
