Netflix's Cobra Kai Season 4 Poster Features Terry Silver | CBR

His business is strictly revenge.

A recently released teaser trailer for Cobra Kai Season 4 confirms the return of Thomas Ian Griffith as Terry Silver, the main antagonist of the 1989 film The Karate Kid Part III. Cobra Kai star William Zabka, who plays protagonist Johnny Lawrence, has now revealed a poster for Season 4 that further teases Silver's role in the series.

Zabka shared the poster to his Twitter account with the caption, "Cobra Kai Never Dies." The image sees Silver facing away from the camera, his trademark ponytail clearly visible. The poster's text reads, "Now the real pain begins," a reference to a line spoken by Silver to protagonist Daniel LaRusso in Karate Kid III.

Griffith's Terry Silver is an old Army buddy of classic Karate Kid villain John Kreese, played by Martin Kove. Silver is a wealthy and corrupt businessman who originally founded the Cobra Kai dojo. In Karate Kid III, Cobra Kai sensei Kreese enlists Silver as part of a plan to exact revenge on Daniel LaRusso and Mr. Miyagi. Silver was alluded to in Cobra Kai's first two seasons, with a young version of the character -- played by Nick Marini -- appearing in flashback sequences in Season 3. Cobra Kai Season 3's flashbacks elaborated on Kreese and Silver's time in Vietnam.

Set 34 years after the events of 1984's The Karate Kid, Cobra Kai premiered its first season on YouTube Premium (formerly YouTube Red) in May 2018, with the show returning for Season 2 in April 2019. Seasons 1 and 2 of Cobra Kai were met with critical acclaim, and YouTube ordered a third. However, YouTube then agreed to release the series to Sony Pictures Television at the production company's request, as YouTube had informed Sony that it would not be ordering a fourth season. Sony then took Cobra Kai to Netflix, with Season 3 premiering on the platform in January of this year. Season 4 does not currently have a release date, though is slated to premiere in Q4 of 2021, meaning it is expected to arrive sometime between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31 of this year.

Cobra Kai stars William Zabka, Ralph Macchio, Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni DeCenzo, Martin Kove, Vanessa Rubio and Peyton List. Seasons 1-3 are currently streaming on Netflix. Season 4 has yet to receive a premiere date.
