Skybound Entertainment is launching another variant cover initiative— this time for Pride Month.
Beginning in June, Skybound will debut nine variant covers for its ongoing titles, featuring artwork by LGBTQI+ artists. The initiative begins with Fire Power #12 and The Walking Dead Deluxe #16 on June 2. All proceeds from the cover sales will go to benefit the Transgender Law Center, the largest national trans-led organization in the United States.
"The trans community has seen an unprecedented attack on their rights in recent years, and Skybound has decided to launch this program to raise money to support this important fight for equality," Skybound's Senior Vice President/Editor-in-Chief Sean Mackiewicz said in a statement. "We support the Transgender Law Center’s mission to ensure all transgender and gender nonconforming people can live safely, authentically, and free from discrimination regardless of their gender identity or expression."
Skybound announced a previous cover variant initiative for AAPI Heritage Month, featuring variant covers with artwork from Asian-American and Pacific Islander artists and spotlighting Asian-American and Pacific Islander characters. The publisher also celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, with the new anthology series Skybound X featuring multiple stories from all-star writers and artists focusing on Skybound's characters.
