Snake Eyes Star Teases Trailer Drop | CBR

As Snake-Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins' trailer drop approaches, Henry Golding is fueling the hype.

Golding posted a new Snake-Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins poster to his Twitter featuring his character's sword, Morning Light. He captioned the post, "A warrior's path. See Morning Light in action, tonight on MTV Awards." Golding revealed the first poster for Snake-Eyes on May 14, along with the news that the trailer would debut during MTV's Movie and TV Awards.

As part of the upcoming MTV Movie and TV Awards, Golding was also interviewed by MTV about his starring role in the upcoming G.I. Joe solo film. He shared, "I think the thing I'm excited for fans to see for the upcoming Snake Eyes in action... What are his sort of downfalls, his pitfalls, his lessons that he's learned to become the guy that he is."

Snake-Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins was originally slated to debut in October 2020, but its release was pushed back a full year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The synopsis for Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins reads,

Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins stars Henry Golding as Snake Eyes, a tenacious loner who is welcomed into an ancient Japanese clan called the Arashikage after saving the life of their heir apparent. Upon arrival in Japan, the Arashikage teach Snake Eyes the ways of the ninja warrior while also providing something he’s been longing for: a home. But, when secrets from his past are revealed, Snake Eyes’ honor and allegiance will be tested – even if that means losing the trust of those closest to him.

Directed by Robert Schwentke, Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins stars Henry Golding as Snake Eyes, Andre Koji as Storm Shadow, Iko Uwais as Hard Master, Úrsula Corberó as Baroness, Samara Weaving as Scarlett, Haruka Abe as Akiko and Tahehiro Hira as Kenta. The film arrives in theaters on July 23.
