Spider-Man: No Way Home Reportedly Introduces the Sinister Six

The Sinister Six, a collection of Spider-Man's greatest enemies, are reportedly set to make their Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

"A lot of speculation is Kraven the Hunter part of the Sinister Six, is that what they're building towards? Is he going to be in Spider-Man 3, I really don't know at this point anymore," Jeff Sneider said on the Sneider Cut podcast. "But here's what I had heard last month. It's obvious that they are building to the Sinister Six in Spider-Man 3, which is Spider-Man: No Way Home. So I heard that the 'No Way Home' wasn't in reference to Spider-Man but to the villains -- that the villains are coming out of all these different alternative dimensions. They don't have a way to get home."

Sneider then went on to list the members of the Sinister Six that fans will reportedly be introduced to in No Way Home, and they consist of some familiar names from previous Spider-Man films.

"Sony has obviously copped to the fact that Doc Ock is in the movie, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx is Electro. Those are the only two that we really know. I'm pretty sure that Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin will be the main villain in this film. So that's three. I'd heard Sandman, Rhino and Lizard. Those were the other three that I heard. I don't know if any of those are confirmed. I don't know if Rhys Ifans or Paul Giamatti or Thomas Haden Church had been seen on set, I haven't really been paying attention to the paparazzi photos. But that was my understanding is that all six of those past Spider-Man villains because it doesn't really make sense to introduce new villains necessarily in this movie. But six Spider-Man villains from the past wind up in Peter Parker's universe and they are the ones who have no way of getting home."

Drew Goddard was originally tapped by Sony to helm a Sinister Six movie, which would have spun out of Andrew Garfield's The Amazing Spider-Man films. However, with Spider-Man: No Way Home leaning into the multiverse with the inclusion of Molina's Doctor Octopus, Foxx's Electro and Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange, speculation now leads to No Way Home assembling a multiversal version of the Sinister Six.

Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Tony Revolori as Flash Thompson, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus and Jamie Foxx as Electro. The film arrives in theaters Dec. 17.
