Attack On Titan: 10 Most Powerful Members Of Marley's Military

Attack on Titan focuses on a group of Eldian soldiers called the Survey Corps as they fight to take the world back from their enemies. Throughout the manga, they learn that their true enemies are from other nations across the ocean, with the biggest threat being Marley.

Marley's military consists of many ordinary humans who chose to fight for their nation, as well as the Eldian titan shifters and their successors who have been the Survey Corps' main enemy since the first chapter.

10 Porco Was Strong But Reckless

Porco was an inheritor of the Jaw Titan. Growing up with his brother, Marcel, and other Warrior candidates like Reiner and Bertholdt, Porco was devastated to not become a titan shifter when everyone else around him did. Because of this, he did everything he could to prove he was worthy of being the Jaw Titan once he finally inherited it. However, his desire to prove himself to Marley led to him being reckless at times and underestimating the Survey Corps. He never thought strategically and always acted on emotion.

9 Marcel Died And Other Warriors Were Able To Surpass Him

Porco's brother, Marcel, is slightly stronger than he was. Marcel was the first Galliard brother to inherit the Jaw Titan and Marley trusted him so much that he was able to convince them to give the Armored Titan to Reiner. Marcel was supposed to lead Reiner, Annie, and Bertholdt to Paradis and take the Founding Titan from the Reiss family. However, he quickly got eaten by Ymir. Marcel may have seemed like the best Warrior candidate, and mentally he was, but because he hesitated to fight against Ymir and died at a young age, those around him were able to surpass his strength.

8 Gabi Was One Of The Strongest Humans In The Military

Though she never became a titan shifter, Gabi was one of the best Warrior candidates Marley ever had. Not only was she incredibly loyal and believed every word the Marleyans said to her, she also played a big role in their war against the Mid-East Allied Forces. Without her risking her life to destroy the armored train, the Mid-East Allied Forces may have won the war, causing her comrades to be very grateful for her despite being an Eldian.

7 Falco Surpassed Gabi By Inheriting The Jaw Titan

Though Gabi was clearly the better fighter among Marley's youngest Warrior candidates when they were first introduced, Falco got stronger by the end of the series. Wanting to protect Gabi and extend the amount of time she would live, he trained hard and even beat her at a race, which none of the other candidates around them could do. Later on in the manga, he turned into a titan and ate Porco, inheriting the Jaw Titan.

Because he had some of Zeke's spinal fluid inside of him, his Jaw Titan also had characteristics of the Beast Titan, making him one of the most unique titan shifters to ever live. By his final battle, Falco was able to fly and became much stronger than he was when he was still training.

6 Annie Killed Many Survey Corps Soldiers On Her Own

Annie is arguably the first main antagonist of the series: she was the first titan shifter to directly fight the Survey Corps. Because of her ability to possess other titan inheritors' powers, the Marleyans ran experiments on her, which – along with the training her father put her through – made her very strong. She was able to defeat many capable Survey Corps soldiers on her own and, due to her hardening abilities, couldn't be killed even after she was defeated. However, since she had no interest in fighting and hated that she had to kill people, Annie has always held back, giving her a disadvantage.

5 Reiner Proved His Strength After Failing His Mission

Reiner was the underdog of the Warrior candidates he trained with. Despite this, he was given the Armored Titan and led Bertholdt and Annie on their mission after Marcel died. In order to cope and be the person his comrades needed him to be, he started acting like Marcel, which caused him to have two different personalities. He began acting much stronger than he actually was and became a role model for the enemies he befriended in the 104th Training Corps.

However, he couldn't keep the facade forever and ended up retreating from Paradis with Zeke and Pieck. In the years since, he worked even harder to prove he was worthy of being the Armored Titan's inheritor and became the person he wanted to be in the war against the Mid-East Allied Forces. It took him a long time, but Reiner became one of the strongest characters in Attack on Titan by the end of the manga.

4 Zeke Was Born To Be One Of The Strongest Titan Shifters

Because Zeke is a descendant of Ymir Fritz, he was always destined to be strong, but he became even more powerful once he inherited the Beast Titan. He can control normal and abnormal titans, and transform Eldians into titans if they drink his spinal fluid, giving him a major advantage in battle.

Through his friendship with Tom, the Beast Titan before him, he became a great pitcher. He used this skill to throw boulders at his enemies, resulting in the deaths of many Survey Corps soldiers, including Commander Erwin. Even Levi, the strongest character who was born in Paradis, had difficulty fighting against Zeke.

3 Bertholdt Is A "God Of Destruction"

Bertholdt is arguably the second-strongest titan shifter in the series, as well as Marley's most powerful weapon. With little effort, he could destroy an entire nation if he wanted to. And that's his problem. Bertholdt rarely takes action unless he is told to do so and held back his power throughout the majority of the manga as he considered the people he was fighting against to be his friends. Ironically, he was tricked by Armin and Eren as soon as he was prepared to end the war between Paradis and Marley, which led to his defeat. If he had acted on his own earlier in the series, Marley would have had a greater chance at beating the Eldians.

2 Kruger Is Both An Inheritor Of The Attack Titan And A Marleyan Officer

Eren Kruger, one of the inheritors of the Attack Titan, is not nearly as strong as Zeke or Bertholdt. However, because he was a Marleyan officer and hid his powers until the end of his life, the titan shifters from the Warrior Unit would have always obeyed him if he were to give them orders, and none would ever consider turning their back on him.

Kruger helped out the Eldian Restorationists, but they were eventually discovered by Marley and sent to Paradis. There, Kruger revealed who he was and betrayed his fellow officers. Unfortunately, this was the only time that fans saw him in action. Because the titan he possessed was the Attack Titan, he had to be incredibly strong. Even without the Attack Titan, his true power comes from his rank as a Marleyan officer rather than a titan shifter.

1 Theo Is The General Of Marley's Military

Like Kruger, nobody loyal to Marley would think to turn their back on Theo Magath. He was the general of Marley's military after Calvi died, having the highest rank out of everyone in Marley, besides the Tybur family. None of the characters from the Warrior Unit ever wanted to upset Theo as they had always respected him, especially since he would fight alongside them, unlike Paradis' general, Darius Zackly. In fact, Theo even sacrificed himself to help the Warriors, proving that he truly did care about them and was worthy of being their leader.
