The current volume of Batman/Superman launched in 2019 under the creative team of Joshua Williamson and David Marquez and dealt with the "Infected" storyline that was encompassing much of the DC Universe. By March 2021, Gene Luen Yang and Ivan Reis had taken over as the writer and artist, and the series shifted to exploring the multiversal aftermath of Dark Nights: Death Metal.

Batman/Superman #22, by Gene Luen Yang and Paul Pelletier, goes on sale Sept. 28 from DC.
