Batwoman Season Finale Photos Offer a New Look at Batwing | CBR

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Batwoman Season 2, Episode 17, "Kane, Kate," which aired Sunday on The CW.

Photos from the Batwoman Season 2 finale, "Power," spotlight Luke Fox's Batwing costume.

The episode will see Luke suit up as Batwing for the first time, following his near-death at the hands of the ex-Crows Agent Russell Tavaroff. Other highlights include Kate/Circe in her tweaked Bat-suit and Black Mask preparing to wreak havoc upon Gotham City by sending out a message across the airwaves.

"Power" will follow the events of Season 2's penultimate episode, "Kane, Kate," in which Kate/Circe continued to secretly work with Black Mask, despite having learned the truth about him kidnapping and brainwashing her into believing she's his daughter. The "Power" photos hint at a tense reunion between Kate/Circe and her ex-lover Sophie, who was unable to shoot her when Kate/Circe betrayed the Bat-Team, stealing multiple confiscated super-villain items from the Batcave.

According to the official series description for Batwing's introduction, Luke will suit up "as Batwoman's crime-fighting counterpart as they work to clean up the mess created in the season two finale. But before Luke Fox can fully embrace the awesome and powerful nature of his supersuit he must first overcome his own personal demons."

Luke Fox actor Camrus Johnson, who voiced his desire to play Batwing on the show as far back as early 2020, talked about what it means to him to don his own Bat-suit. "The main reason I wanted to be in Batwoman was for this opportunity -- to give kids like me another [Black] hero to look up to and relate to," said Johnson, commenting on the first-look Batwing photos.

The official synopsis for "Power" reads,

In the Batwoman season finale, Ryan Wilder questions her place as the city's hero as she, Luke Fox, Mary Hamilton and Sophie Moore must join forces when Black Mask instigates chaos in the Gotham streets. Meanwhile, Alice's attempt to rescue her sister means another encounter with Circe. In an epic standoff, unexpected alliances and transformations will upend Gotham as we know it. Holly Dale directed the episode written by Caroline Dries.

Batwoman stars Javicia Leslie as Ryan Wilder, Rachel Skarsten as Alice, Meagan Tandy as Sophie Moore, Camrus Johnson as Luke Fox, Dougray Scott as Jacob Kane, Nicole Kang as Mary Hamilton-Kane and Wallis Day as Kate Kane. New episodes air Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
