Arguably the most anticipated event of E3 2021, the Microsoft/Bethesda Games Showcase has provided Xbox fans with a generous glimpse of what awaits them in the near future. Microsoft unveiled closer looks at Halo Infinite, Starfield and various new first-party titles that will debut on the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Game Pass. 30 new titles were revealed, so here's everything that was announced:
Set hundreds of years in the future, Starfield is Bethesda's first original IP in decades. The first in-game teaser for Starfield kicked off the Microsoft/Bethesda Games Showcase. The trailer focuses on a lone astronaut equipped with a variety of tools and weapons as they explore an alien landscape. Players will serve as a member of Constellation, an expedition to discover life in space. The game launches for Xbox Game Pass on 11 Nov. 2022.
The new gameplay trailer for the upcoming S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 highlighted the game's intense gunfights, scavenging and hauntingly desolate environments. The series's anomalies make a return as players will need to throw bolts to detect any supernatural events and entities. Framed as a conversation between Zone survivors around a campfire, the trailer also provides a better look at the game's narrative, which seems to play a bigger role than in previous games.
Players will fight against both human factions and mutated creatures in their efforts to survive the Zone's deadly radiation. It appears the game's dialogue will be entirely in Russian although this may be a creative choice for the trailer. The game launches in 2022.
Back 4 Blood, the spiritual successor to co-op zombie shooter Left 4 Dead debuted a new gameplay trailer highlighting the game's characters and enemies.The trailer introduced new game modes, including a Human vs. Zombies competitive mode. The game launches on October 12.
A cinematic trailer for Contraband presents a co-op open-world. Little information on gameplay was revealed.
The new expansion for Sea of Thieves presents players with more supernatural entities and Jack Sparrow, of Disney's Pirate of the Caribbean film franchise. Players will need to help Jack on a quest to take down Davy Jones, also from the film series. It's unconfirmed whether players will be able to take control of Jack or whether he'll serve as a quest giving NPC.
The entire Yakuza franchise, including Yakuza: Like a Dragon, is now available on Xbox Game Pass.
A new gameplay trailer for Battlefield 2042 showed off the game's chaotic multiplayer combat, including vehicles, melee kills, plenty of explosions and dynamic weather effects that create chaos in the heat of battle. The game's on-the-fly customization system and wingsuits were also highlighted. The game launches on October 2022.
A new gameplay trailer for interactive thriller Twelve Minutes highlights the voice cast of Willem Dafoe, Daisy Ridley and James McAvoy.
The gameplay trailer for Psychonauts 2 focuses on the platformer's diverse worlds and characters. Twisted worlds and strange missions await players in the sequel to one of Double Fine Studios' most beloved properties. The game launches on August 25.
Doom Eternal will make the leap to Game Pass this fall as well as a next-gen boost for Xbox Series X|S.
The next expansion for survival MMO Fallout 76 will focus on the Brotherhood of Steel. Players will need to help the Brotherhood in their battle against the Wasteland, equipped with new weapons, armor and gadgets. New characters will assist the player as they decide the fate of the Brotherhood in the upcoming Steel Reign update. Fallout 76 Expeditions: The Pitt will also arrive in the near future.
The Elder Scrolls Online will be updated for Xbox Series X|S in the near future.
Party Animals is a physics-based party-game brawler where players will need to throw their opponents out of the arena using any means necessary... if they can come to terms with the intentionally floppy movement.
2020's Game of the Year Hades is making the jump to Xbox consoles on August 13. Players will attempt to escape from Hades in this tough-as-nails rogue-like.
A post-apocalyptic 2D adventure game in the same vein as Inside, players will need to guide a family to safety through an alien invasion in Somerville. The game launches in 2022.
343 Studios provided players with a closer look at the Zeta Halo Ring, Halo Infinite's open-world setting. The new trailer highlights Master Chief as he attempts to fight back against an alien force. The game will seemingly feature zero-gravity sections and the grappling hook was highlighted. Master Chief appears to be on the hunt for Cortana, the series AI program that's gone missing. Chief accepts help from a new AI program in the process.
A gameplay trailer for the multiplayer mode shows off a variety of new weapons and the return of the series' iconic announcements. The grappling hook will be made available in multiplayer. Capture The Flag is a confirmed game mode. The multiplayer component will be free-to-play. Halo Infinite will launch towards the end of 2021.
A new gameplay trailer for Diablo 2: Resurrected, the remake of the beloved dungeon-crawler confirmed the game's next-gen optimization on Xbox Series X|S. The game launches on 23 September.
A sequel to adventure stealth game A Plague Tale: Innocence was confirmed by publisher Focus Home Interactive. The game will launch in 2022.
A flashy new trailer for Ubisoft's Far Cry 6 highlights the variety of missions in the game. Stealth missions, high-value target elimination and demolition missions will all be available. A deadly rooster wearing a spiked collar also makes an appearance. The game launches on 7 October.
The sequel to the cult-classic farming management game, Slime Rancher 2 introduces more slimes, a new word and new gadgets. The game launches in 2022.
In a new snowboarding game, Shredders will see players grinding, shredding and tricking their way down steep, snowy slopes. The game appears to place a great emphasis on physics-based tricks. Shredders is out in 2022.
