Marvel Realm of Champions is adding a transmog feature to the game in the next major update.
Announced by Marvel Realm of Champions developer Kabam, following the highly anticipated 4.0 update players will be able to change the appearance of their character's loot without adjusting their stats. The feature, commonly known as a "transmog" system, is a staple option in many games that place an emphasis on character stats and loot. The update launches on June 29.
"With the introduction of Transmog, you can now explore all of the possible combinations of different looks for each Champion as all available Appearances can now be previewed in the Transmog menu screens!" reads the Marvel Realm of Champions' blog post update. "Transmog will also introduce a customization currency called Essence that will be required to change the appearance of your gear items. This is a small cost to preserve the stats of your gear items while changing to your preferred look."
Beyond the addition of a transmog feature, the 4.0 update also introduces a new story event. Titled "Trial of the Worthy," players will embark on a journey with an unworthy Thor who seeks the right to wield his own Mjolnir. Thor will be accompanied by the Winter Soldier, still recovering from a personal tragedy, and the Hulk. "Trial of the Worthy" is an episodic story that will be told over the course of a month.
The 4.0 update also adds a new weapon for the Hulk: Wing Shields. These dual shields are designed to provide players with crowd control options. Players will be able to use the new weapons to "mark an enemy’s location for engagement and follow up to gain a shield and reduce the ability’s cooldown." The Wing Shield's heavy attack can then be used to deal heavy area of effect damage to all surrounding enemies. Set on the planet Battleworld, Marvel Realm of Champions is an action RPG that sees players take control of their favorite Marvel heroes. Players can gear up and engage in real-time PvE and PvP game modes either solo or with friends. Using their heros' range of iconic abilities, players must defeat waves of enemies while discovering loot to further increase their power.
Developed by Kabam, Marvel Realm of Champions is now available on the App Store and Google Play for iOS and Android devices. The 4.0 update launches on June 29.
