The future heroes of U.A. High School often need a little help from their friends to overcome the challenges they face, and these friendships are built to last.

10 Denki Kaminari And Minoru Mineta Make An Interesting Comedic Duo

This unusual duo is one of the more comedic platonic pairings of the series; their interactions always lighten the atmosphere and enhance the series' humor.

As they share a mutual interest in pranks and women, the two are often hatching some not-so-heroic pranks for Class 1-A. They're also nothing alike, in that they don’t share very many similarities beyond their love of mischief, and Mineta isn’t very well-liked by viewers. But it’s the fact that they’re nothing alike that makes their friendship work so well and adds something extra to the series.

9 Momo Yaoyorozu And Kyoka Jiro Have A Cute And Complementary Friendship Both In And Out Of Battle

Momo Yaoyorozu and Kyoka Jiro are two of the closest friends in Class 1-A. The duo has proved that they were more than capable on their own more than once, but their teamwork was especially extraordinary during the U.S.J. arc and the Provisional Hero License Exam arc.

Not only do they work well in the field, but their interactions outside of combat are just as amazing. They’re almost always enjoying each other’s company, hanging out together, and are generally just there for one another. It’s a cute friendship that many viewers wish they had themselves.

8 Kyoka Jiro And Denki Kaminari Share Surprising Similarities

From the beginning, Kyoka Jiro and Denki Kaminari’s friendship was one that viewers were eager to see grow. Their friendship didn’t truly flourish until they had to work together for the school festival, when each class had to put on a performance.

It’s here that the two discovered their mutual love for music and Kyoka impressed Denki with her musical skills. From there, their friendship grew to one of support and encouragement, but also one where they have no problem teasing and tormenting each other for fun. They even share similar accent hairpieces which represent their Quirks and share a similar costume design.

7 Katsuki Bakugo And Eijiro Kirishima Were Destined To Be Friends

This dynamic duo work well together even though they're opposites in many ways. Where Katsuki Bakugo is literally explosive, blunt, and has a hard time making friends, Eijiro Kirishima is loud, outgoing, and liked by many of his peers.

Since the entrance exam, it seemed like the two were destined to be friends, even if Bakugo sometimes thinks that he doesn’t need such support. They even used the same idols to draw inspiration from for their Hero names. Despite their differences, the two complement and help each other grow.

6 Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu And Eijiro Kirishima Share A Similar Fiery Spirit

Usually, when characters have opposing personalities, their interactions can go south fairly quickly. But Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu and Eijiro Kirishima don’t let their differences define them. In fact, these two are eerily similar in a number of ways, so their friendship isn’t unexpected. They have the same mentor, goals, and dreams, their Quirks are similar, and even their hero outfits are alike.

It’s not until the U.A. Sports Festival's Fighting Tournament that the two truly begin to bond and become friends. Their passion and fiery spirits not only resonate with each other, but with their classmates too.

5 Itsuka Kendo And Neito Monoma Help Keep Each Other In Check

Itsuka Kendo and Neito Monoma are unlikely friends from Class 1-B who nonetheless complement each other well. Whenever Monoma’s competitiveness fires up, especially whenever he's around Class 1-A — who he likes to mock and taunt even though he's intimidated by them — Kendo is there to reel him back in, sometimes in the form of knocking him out and apologizing for her friend.

Even though Monoma can be overly critical of Kendo, she takes it in stride and doesn’t let it get to her, showing that there is no bad blood between them and that their friendship is deeper than his insults. Kendo does get her own taunts in, too, which helps to show that their friendship is one of mutual respect.

4 Tsuyu Asui And Ochaco Uraraka Share A Loneliness That Only The Other Could Understand

Even though all of the girls of Class 1-A are incredibly close, Tsuyu Asui and Ochaco Uraraka are the closest. They both share a somewhat similar lonely past, so the two understand and appreciate each other more than the others could comprehend.

During the Forest Training arc, viewers watched as Tsuyu comforted a frightened Uraraka. Quite often, they use their Quirks to defend and protect one another and to comfort the other — which are all signs of how great their friendship is.

3 Eijiro Kirishima And Mina Ashido Prove That Friendships Go Beyond Flashy Quirks

Since working on the same team for the Sports Festival, Ashido and Kirishima have become great friends and are often seen together. One of the wonderful things about this friendship is that Ashido is always there for Kirishima and encourages him to be a better hero, even though he always finds some problem with himself or his Quirk.

She forces him to see that he’s just as good as the rest of those who have flashier Quirks and that all he needs to do to become a great hero is to believe in himself. Throughout the series, viewers watch as the two defend and protect each other, praise the other for their skills and abilities, and tease each other to lighten the mood.

2 Izuku Midoriya And Ochaco Uraraka Have Been Friends From The Very Beginning

From the moment that Izuku saved Ochaco from a robot and Ochaco subsequently saved Izuku from a very high fall during the U.A. entrance exam, the two havehad  a friendship that viewers envy. Since those initial interactions, they've grown quite close.

Not only do they encourage one another to be the best versions of themselves that they can be, but they also train that much harder for the other, so that they can stand side by side as Heroes. They also have similar personality traits, particularly their shared tenacity. There's a fire burning within them both.

1 Izuku Midoriya, Shoto Todoroki, And Katsuki Bakugo Will Always Be There For Each Other

This trio started out under the most horrible of circumstances, but it’s these circumstances that helped forge a friendship that's sure to last the test of time.

The beauty of this deep bond is that these friends stick up for each other, they fight for (and with) each other, and their personalities play off of each other. These three know that if they ever need anything, they can turn to each other.
