PAW Patrol: The Movie Debuts First Official Trailer | CBR

Paramount Pictures released the first official trailer for PAW Patrol: The Movie.

Based on the children's television series of the same name, the trailer offers a first look at the PAW Patrol's new headquarters, their daring adventures and, of course, the team's gadgets and transforming vehicles. The PAW Patrol film will follow Ryder and this heroic team of pups as they work to stop the villainous Humdinger, the new mayor of Adventure City and notorious "cat-person," from wreaking havoc on the city's population.

Debuting on Nickelodeon in 2013, The PAW Patrol animated series currently airs in 160 countries in over 30 languages and was recently renewed for an eighth season. Production on the film began in Oct. 2020, with artists and producers collaborating remotely on the project throughout the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The official synopsis for PAW Patrol: The Movie reads,

The PAW Patrol is on a roll! When their biggest rival, Humdinger, becomes Mayor of nearby Adventure City and starts wreaking havoc, Ryder and everyone’s favorite heroic pups kick into high gear to face the challenge head on. While one pup must face his past in Adventure City, the team finds help from a new ally, the savvy dachshund Liberty. Together, armed with exciting new gadgets and gear, the PAW Patrol fights to save the citizens of Adventure City! Joining the PAW Patrol in their thrilling first big screen adventure are members from the original series’ cast along with Iain Armitage, Marsai Martin, Yara Shahidi, Kim Kardashian West, Randall Park, Dax Shepard, with Tyler Perry and Jimmy Kimmel and introducing Will Brisbin.

Directed by Cal Brunker, PAW Patrol: The Movie features the voices of Jimmy Kimmel, Kim Kardashian, Tyler Perry, Dax Shepard, Randall Park, Yara Shahidi, Iain Armitage, Marsai Martin and Will Brisbin. The film is set for theatrical release on Aug. 20.
