Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Glitch Lets Players Swap Lombaxes

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart players have discovered an exploit that allows them to access any of the game's planets as either Ratchet or Rivet.

The glitch was first noted Imaginashunz, who posted about it on the Ratchet and Clank subreddit. Imaginashunz notes that while attempting to find CraiggerBears, an in-game collectible, they stumbled upon the bug. While it's not necessarily simple to pull off, the trick doesn't appear to require much luck, relying purely on loading a level as either character and quitting out at the right time. If the timing is correct, players will be able to play as either Rivet or Ratchet on planets previously locked to one character or the other.

To successfully swap between Lombaxes, players must fully load into a planet as either Ratchet or Rivet. Once the planet has loaded, they will need to depart their ship and immediately climb back in, select a new planet only accessible to the opposite character and proceed into space. Once the craft warps and the new world is visible, quit the game and load back in. Players should arrive back on the planet they just left, only they'll be controlling the opposing Lombax.

Some fans have been able to stage screenshots showing two of the same Lombaxes in the same room. Reddit user u/Mahboishk shared an image of two versions of Ratchet sitting around a table. They confirm that the effect was achieved through the exploit.
