Star Wars: The Bad Batch Is in Crosshair’s Crosshairs in Epic Midseason Trailer

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 1, Episode 8, "Reunion," now streaming on Disney+.

Disney+ dropped a midseason trailer for Star Wars: The Bad Batch, spotlighting Clone Force 99's ongoing battle with their former teammate Crosshair.

"Times have changed. Things were clearer when we were just soldiers," notes Hunter at the start of the trailer. The video goes on to recap the biggest plot points in Season 1 so far, including Clone Force 99 fleeing Kamino with Omega, another experimental clone, and working for Cid, a Trandoshan cantina owner on the planet Ord Mantell. It also shows Crosshair catching up to the squad on Bracca and hints at their battles to come, with the Galactic Empire hot on their trail.

The Bad Batch Episode 8, "Reunion," concluded with Omega being captured by the bounty hunter Cad Bane, operating on the orders of Kamino Prime Minister Lama Su and Chief Scientist Nala Se, as part of their "contingency plan" to protect their interests in the wake of the Clone Wars ending. Omega was also being tracked by Fennec Shand, who is expected to return at some point in the second half of the show's first season. Ming-Na Wen voices the character, in addition to playing the live-action iteration of Fennec on The Mandalorian and the upcoming spinoff series The Book of Boba Fett.

Beyond teasing Clone Force 99's continuing conflict with Crosshair and the Empire, The Bad Batch midseason trailer highlights the potential for Hunter and the gang to become an essential part of the growing Rebellion against the Empire, much like their old buddy Rex. This was pointed out in Episode 6, "Decommissioned," when Clone Force 99 crossed paths with the sisters Rafa and Trace Martez from Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7, unaware of their connection to the developing resistance.

The trailer even spotlights Rafa's parting words to Hunter after he admitted he's struggling to figure out where he and others fit in the brewing war between the Empire and Rebel Alliance: "In the end, we all choose sides."
